Aluminium hulls that crack when they get any sort of waves on them. Not sure specifically why it is in the news lately but it has been a problem for a while as far as I know

Yeah. We had the monsoon hang around for about 7 weeks between Darwin and Xmas Island. Would have been rough water in their operations area.

Re: The South Australian Political Landscape
im sorry, but can anyone clarify what it was turbo tom was on about last night?? supposedly marshal had a business interest in some wok in a box stores, and now no longer does..... i fail to see how that relates to anything at all?? unless the stores went belly up, or were mistreating/underpaying staff (which i have seen no suggestion of anywhere, im not trying to imply either of those things) i fail to see the significance.
particularly not enough to get old turbo so lathered up. pretty sure the camera man and interviewer would have needed wet weather gear he was frothing so much. maybe ill change my feeling from yesterday, if the labs are desperate enough to try to cling to that straw maybe they will get hosed.

I couldn't quite see what the point was either.
Although it is interesting he hadn't mentioned it previously himself, and that it's taken this long to come out.

Relieved to get another letter from Zoe Bettinson, Member for Ramsay.
To tell us that the street corner meeting will be held on a street corner that DOES exist.
This one on the corner of Parawae and Fenden.
Right outside the house where two hounds of hell with vicious barks try to jump over/charge through the front fence and eat everything that passes by.
Animal, human, whatever.
Might pop my head out to see if the demon dogs raise hell...

Re: The South Australian Political Landscape
PREMIER Jay Weatherill says he will “absolutely” take legal action and has already sought advice over campaign advertisements paid for by the Liberal Party that make claims about his knowledge of the rape of a child.
Mr Weatherill said Electoral Commissioner Kay Mousley had “caught the Liberal Party out lying” in a radio ad that criticises the Government’s handling of the rape of a girl at a western suburbs school .
Ms Mousley has ordered the Liberal Party to withdraw and apologise for an advertisement it funded which has been found to be inaccurate and misleading.
The Liberals paid for a radio ad recorded by independent candidate for Lee, Mel Calone .
It criticised Mr Weatherill and his government’s handling of the school rape case. Ms Calone’s children attended that school.
“The independent umpire has caught the Liberal Party out lying and not lying about a small matter but on the topic of child sexual abuse,” Mr Weatherill said this morning.

Re: The South Australian Political Landscape
Who will he sue?
Child sexual abuse was supposed to be a smoking gun in this election - the Libs may have undone that possibility. Although, they may be happy it's in the public's mind again, even if it does cost someone some $$$.
This and the wok-in-a-box story have given a little bit of room for Labor to swing from the ropes.

Classic Wok-in-a-Box story. Still not sure what was going on with that.

Re: The South Australian Political Landscape
I'm not sure, either. But Marshall's cut and run has turned it into something more than it probably should've been.
Labor would be delighted by that response.

Re: The South Australian Political Landscape
I love how when one side digs some dirt on someone from their opponent, the other party then returns fire.
Seen this with the Marshall issue, and now the ALP candidate from Whyalla.
I hope both sides keep it up, not only just before an election, but throughout the term of the elected parliament.
Would weed out a few undesirables, and make for good soap opera entertainment.
Not saying necessarily that the 2 particular candidates have done enough to be disendorsed or be disqualified from ever standing. But it can be fun watching the mud slinging.

Jack Snelling and John Rau to fight for the spoils of defeat.
Snelling for opposition leader, Rau to stay as deputy.
