While the makers claimed it wasn't addictive when it was first released many years ago it wasn't long before some people were taking them in large doses and getting similar reactions and withdrawal symptoms to those suffered by the users of amphetamines. It is not surprising as the molecular structure resembles fairly closely that of amphetamines and adrenaline.

I looked at those diet pills/appetite supressants a while back and noticed a lot of them just seemed to be jammed full of caffeine. I have a medical condition that doesn't react well to caffeine so chose not to try them.

I did try the meal replacement shakes from one of those pharmacy based weight loss campaigns as seen on tv for a couple of months. I got really good results whilst doing bugger all exercise (about 10 kgs in 6 weeks). I had a shake for bfast and 1 for lunch with the only 'real' food allowed during the day being a couple of pieces of fruit. For tea it was steamed veg/salad (no dressing) and a piece of plain lean meat.

After 6 weeks I had had enough of constantly feeling hungry and missed the pleasure of eating food. I put it all back on (with interest) over the next few months.

WEEK 1
121.5
119.3

2.2 kilo loss, thats a good start, `but the first week of any diet is the easiest

REPLACEMENT SHAKES
Used them for a few days but gave up
Shakes filled me up OK , but didnt supress my apetite as much as I had thought they would
The 1910 Fruitgum Company had a hit song in the 60s with this lyric'' Yummy yummy yummy I got food in my tummy''
Nothing beats the feeling of eating proper food
I sub consiously keep thinking that drinking shakes was inadequate
So Ive abided by an old Normie Rowe lyric ''Shakeing all over''
Also felt bloated after the shakes and I reckon it might be a cause of a sorish back, a full tummy can do that
Yep no more shakes

TASTE
I was good , I didnt eat any take away Junky food
I did have chocolate and cake though
Ive noticed this
When I eat several junkyish meals per week , it is hard to get a nice taste for healthier foods
What I mean is after having a burger , the pleasureable taste of eating a peach is low
But when eating properly the pleasurable taste for fruit veges and salads is now higher
So good foods taste better

EXERCISE
Plenty of stretching and swimming early in the week, but got a bit of Vertigo, so gotta ''relax dont do it ''

WEEK 2
I kilo loss is the aim
Just gunna keep at it
No real game plan

MASTICATION
Gunna eat SLOW
Gunna ''chewy chewy chewy'' each meal really really slow
Weight experts reckon eating slow helps
Anyone agree ?

Eating slower and chewing food works because then when you feel full your full and you stop eating where as eating quickly or not chewing as much can result in your brain not registering your full straight away and tend to over eat, by the time you feel full you have eaten too much - generally when you get the sore stomach or really bloated feel and tired.
Also by not chewing your food as much as you shit takes longer for your body to break down, and tends to slow your metabolism, meaning it sits in your stomach for longer.

Very good article PAFC
Taking deep breaths during a meal is something Ive never done or had thought of

I did eat really slowly today, and must admit I did enjoy my chook and salads
For the first time in a long time I was very full when tea was served in my palace
I had a spud with coleslaw/beetroot for tea, I ate slowly, and only ate 3/4 of the meal
TOMorrow I will trying deep breathing during my meals

I decided to just have a norMAL days eating
Heres howz it went

BREAKFAST
Vegetable Juice for [carrott/celery/beetroot/parsley/ginger/broccoli/apple juice]
1 piece of home made wholegrain bread with a tomotoe
A few Almonds
2 Litres of ice water

LUNCH
Half a chook, coleslaw
Glass of Coke zero

TEA
Half a spud,coleslaw, beet root
Litre of water

Technically I should not have eaten the skin of the wing part of the chook
Potatoes should be eaten in moderation as they apparently have a High GI level
But the meals were unjunkerised, it was nice to eat in a blissfull manner
Being on a 100% diet regime can be offsetting, its nice to indulge a day here and there
I did NO exercise today

sounds good mate

I would recommend trying not to eat potato at dinner time, better of having a steak with veg or some chicken and salad.
Simply from the carbs side of things.
Thats what i did anyways!
get on board the thunder train!!!

Noticed you downed 2L of water at breakfast but did no exercise. Probably got some having to go for a p!ss every half an hour. Lol

Break even result
Had a party and a dinner in that week which certainly didnt help
Can report that by being almost Junk free that the hunger cravings are reducing
