Keep in mind that with the Big Bash starting when it usually does CA obviously won't have a day-night test match this close to Christmas clashing with it and with a test match during the day and then BBL match in the evening that obviously maximises viewers/interest. It's probably part of the reason why (if not the reason) why the Perth Test match as become the first test match of the summer.Eagles2014 wrote:With the weather this year it was the perfect time for a Day/Night test.heater31 wrote:Nope, day Tests for me.Dutchy wrote:While going back to day tests at AO was great give me the day/night tests anyday, unfortunately with the SACA now locking in the Christmas Test it will be Day tests from now on.
2 of the day/night tests have had me searching for a ******* hot chocolate instead of beer at the night session as it was that ******* cold.
Adelaide has proven over a number of years that it deserves top billing in terms of timeslot, opponent and value for money for attendances. 5 days and a result in favour of the good guys.
Previous years has been cold and freezing at night.
Just need bit of luck, but seems we have Day tests coming up except for one year.

It needs to be 5 consecutive days though.RB wrote:If RB were CEO of Cricket Australia, the Adelaide test would be the New Year's test. The Sydney test could occur at some point in the calendar where it does not rain in Sydney.

Re: The Ashes 25/26
During England's infamous beach jaunt in Noosa, their strength and conditioning coach invited the entire squad for a run at 7.45am.
Three players turned up ... and the only one of them who'd even played a Test at that point was young wicketkeeper Jamie Smith.
A damning report from the UK has revealed fresh details of a boozy six-day stretch after losing at the Gabba ... with the Noosa trip descending into "A GLORIFIED STAG DO" for some players.

Spot on, by taking the Christmas Test we have given up day/night slot to Brisbane, no chance of them having day/night in this slot with the BBL now on.The Dark Knight wrote: Keep in mind that with the Big Bash starting when it usually does CA obviously won't have a day-night test match this close to Christmas clashing with it and with a test match during the day and then BBL match in the evening that obviously maximises viewers/interest. Seems like the tail is wagging the dog over there in the UK. The players look like they've come here for a holiday. When they get 'real' about test cricket, they might just be competitive. But not on this tour.Booney wrote:During England's infamous beach jaunt in Noosa, their strength and conditioning coach invited the entire squad for a run at 7.45am.

I'm surprised that Murphy appears to be the frontrunner to replace Gaz. I would've thought Kuhnemann, who easily outbowled him in Sri Lanka with 16 wickets in two tests, or Rocihcchicchioccoli, based on recent form, would be well ahead. Murphy's not even all that much younger, really.

I'll add my usual line...................if you don't have anything up to standard then don't improvise. Play to our strengths, score runs and back our bowlers to bowl them out.whufc wrote:Spinner this shield season so farRB wrote:I'm surprised that Murphy appears to be the frontrunner to replace Gaz.
