They wouldn't have it at Thebby, as it is, it's not in the best condition and they'll have 3 games being played on it every Saturday for the next 4 weeks.

I say Thebby won't be looking that great for the Grand Final next week( 3 Games on 1 day) if there is a fair bit of rain next week as Footy Chick said it was very soft underfoot last week for the u18's. Which did surprise me as I didn't think it had been getting that much use besides Flinders Park and a few other Games. At least the catering ran like a well oiled machine!!

Thebby was very surprisingly soft last weekend.
Payneham Oval was probably harder.
If we have any students of geology here I'm guessing that's rare

But confused, why isn't PHOS ok for this week, but not for last week with SHOC? Been a pretty dry week

The oval was pretty wet last week for the SHOC game and a couple of junior games Sunday haven't seen it this week perhaps it's dried out a bit sharp in which case generally the council are pretty good at rolling it. If the issue is that it's not completely covered in grass then It's probably not on its own.

The stink of the phos oval a few weeks back was beastly
Our female trainers refused to go out on the field remaining well behind the white line going on strike

Ouch
11 points straight after half time and you know every one would have put more pressure on the next bloke. Report I had should have been at least 8-3.

Re: CH9AFL Division 2 2016
Just like to say well done to old iggies B grade.Too skilful, tall and athletic for us yesterday.Found the stand alone game very frustrating as when we lost everyone dispersed cos there was no game to watch and have a drink to end our season.sure we went back to broadies at 5pm but once there's a 3 hour gap some didn't come back.
Just something for the league to think about in the future perhaps

Well Done to Tim Davey on being awarded the Association Medal. A class player....
On another note, any other clubs have some "odd" votes awarded? One of our players was given 3 votes even though he did his knee in the first 5 minutes of a game..............it was a good 5 minutes, but unsure its worthy of the 3 Votes!

Surprising to see that in Div 2. I reckon the lower divisions would be littered with "Robert Klomp Awards"

Happens all the time. Even in div 1 and 2.
Unfortunately for all the winners, it's a little hard to take these awards seriously because of it.
Check the round by round votes for your teams, and you'd be shaking your head most games.
Umpires have no idea how to give votes. At this level, they don't know all the players, and knowing who actually played well is the last thing on their mind.
Unfortunately there's not a solution to it, so it'll continue to happen.

Saw a great game at Caterer Oval yesterday ruined only by one of the worst performances from an umpire I have seen. Shocking performance from him all round

No, older grey haired fella. Couldn't believe what he wasn't paying, especially for one SPOC player. Had to smile when he paid a free against said SPOC player then started yelling at him "if he doesn't calm down he'll pay 25 metres as well" to which the SPOC player pointed out correctly that the umpire was the only one doing any yelling
