Woh! Hold the boat. No Goldy and no Draper. Wow. And Laverde. Another one, like Carlton who delist players that other clubs will pick up for free. NUTS!

Goldy had to be talked into playing this year, he doesn’t have another season in him.
I mentioned that week that Laverde wasn’t offered a contract and no problem with both leaving

Bryan will be our number 1 provided he gets over his ACL injury and I love the look of young Vigo and think he can be our number 1 within a couple of years.
Ruck will be the least of our problems, we will look like the Suns and Giants when they first came in. Bulk of the side will be under 22 and we will cop some beltings along the way

Laverde only got a game this year because all of our key backs were injured.

I agree with Jim, think we have enough ruck support with Bryan, Visentini, Blakiston and Gerreyen.

I heard a good podcast - might've been Dyl Buckley - who had Guy McKenna on. He said that the previous 10 or so premiership teams had about 3000 games worth of experience on game day. He mentioned that when he was at the Suns, they had a ton of first year players and obviously that made it hard to get to 1000 games, let alone 3000.

The problem with Free Agency is that players like Draper/Curnow/Laverde/Allen/Ridley etc etc walking to the top clubs, is that the top clubs keep topping up and the bottom clubs get draft picks. So say each of those players is 150-200 games, the top clubs get that game experience and the bottom clubs get 0 worth of game experience.

It's an interesting thought by McKenna and worthwhile keeping in mind in the future to see how many teams can challenge the Lions/Cats when they clearly are getting better experience each year and the bottom clubs can't.

I agree with this! Free agency has done nothing but keep top clubs strong, whilst bottom clubs get to develop new talent then lose them because they're never realistically in the premiership window.
