I'm genuinely starting to hate the AFL system. The players have far too much power. He's not even a free agent, for God's sakes.
This is just bloody hopeless the interstate teams train up players and after 2 or 3 years they want to go back to vic clubs ...no wonder they keep winning premierships ...
It's soooo annoying. After all the AFC have done for him. No one wanted him with his knee reco etc they give him a go & this is how he repays them. I'm not tooo worried tho we always seem to be able to cover players really well, but it just makes me cross. We are a FANTASTIC club & our recruiting has been great but maybe it's time for SA players only. GGGGGGGRRRRRRR!!!!
Well, what a shock .. not. On your bike junior .. make way for someone who actually WANTS to be here. And imo anyone who starts making noises about leaving DURING the season should be dropped immediately and ALL contract talks should be left until the off-season and put a stop to this nonsense.

not totally devo, we have talia, smith and laird who are all australian level and leaver was getting the 3rd / 4th best defender. If we can get 2 late first round for him its probably a win.

In all honesty I'd look hard in your own backyard before trying to lure kids across the border.
Yes it's a privilege and honour to play at AFL level but I think you'll get more output from a kid that actually barracked for you or can remain in their own state.
Even as adults we explore our employment opportunities, we put up with jobs that get us by and pay the bills whilst sniffing about for more suitable offers and present ourselves when they arise.
