Of course they did

If they had the same energy during the game, as they did playing in the mud, would've won

So Div 4 is down to 4, the same teams that finished top 4 at the end of the minor round.

Venues aren’t set yet but here goes.

Second Semi Final 1v 2

Pembroke v Plympton with the winner going to Div 3 in 2023 and a crack at being premiers.

Pembroke would take up the option to play at home you’d think as their only loss this season there was to Mitcham. They have been the measuring stick all season and a surprise loss to Pooraka in round 18 might have them wondering, but Pat Levecki didn’t play and he sets them up defensively plus they were going to finish minor premiers regardless. They have a group of very good players including coach Mark Evans, Levecki, Max Thring, Alex Forster to compliment the strong group they had last season.

Plympton were clinical in their demolition of Hope Valley in the Qualifying final Saturday, they have a good blend of experience and youngsters and let’s not forget they have been a Div 3 club for some years now, but if they have a weakness it’s their ability to travel, 4 of their 5 losses have been away games. Taverner in ruck, a SANFL league player at Westies works hard around the ground, Zac Peake and Jake Seadon up forward are good finishers along with Nathan Caruso who has been a good pick up this season. Their best is good enough.

My prediction Pembroke by 1-30.

Semi Final 1, the elimination final 3 v 4

Hope Valley v Pooraka

Hope Valley are really struggling at the moment coming off touch ups from Mitcham and Plympton in the last 2 games. I’ve witnessed both those games and they seem to have lost their mojo. Star recruit Daniel Nobes needs to give more and is battling to kick goals, the Valleys faithful would be hoping he can find the form that has him as the leagues leading goal kicker. They also need more from Jayke Hellmanns, Matt Min and the midfielders Mitch Sandery, Jamie Dowling and company or they’ll go out in straight sets.

Pooraka are a very experienced team and not unaccustomed to playing finals, particularly at this level. When you let them roll they are a goal kicking machine so the key to winning is shutting down their run, making the ground small and denying them their ability to change the lanes and layers. Players of quality are Ron and Matt Rankine who have played at good levels for some years now, The Timpano boys who can ice a game quickly and a blend of players who have been there and done that.

I can’t see Valleys winning unless they can pull a rabbit out of the hat.

My prediction Pooraka 31-60

Nobes with a red card yesterday is really going to hurt the chances of them going up to Div 3 - going to be a huge out for hope valley

Don't know what makes you say that...We're not rich, nor do we have mates at the SANFL.

It was a magic game of football yest at Hope Valley, both sides missed opportunities, thats footy.
We were right behind the said action and report and to be honest that was footy 15 years ago but it isn't anymore.
I think Hope Valley can still get the job done, they were pretty good all over the ground, the Pooraka lads can hold their heads high, great effort.
Good luck Demons.

I’d be surprised if Hope Valley beat Plympton in the Prelim. Nobes out would be no biggie, Declan Bayly is the stand out full back in the comp and held Nobes to 1 in the Qualifying Final and Forster to 1 yesterday. He will probably take Matt Min who is dangerous thus reducing Valleys goal options. Either way if Nobes was to play Plympton will still win. Let’s not forget they have spent the last God knows how many years in Div 3 and I expect them to be Pembrokes big danger of winning a flag. That said it may depend on the venue. Is what I read correct Footy Chick, all Prelim’s are on neutral ovals?

Definitely neutral Prelims Yank Man. They need 6 neutral venues next week. Not sure how many SANFL grounds they will have access to but I assume Kenilworth, Mitcham and Kilburn will be in action if they need at least 3 AdFL venues.

Is this new this season DTH? Flinders Park played an away Prelim back in 2020 at North Haven against North Haven.

Regulation 47.1 was amended in the off-season. Now reads that a member club may apply to host a Men's Division 1 to Division 7 "home final" excluding Preliminary Final and Grand Final.

The league actually had neutral gated venues for all finals last season but that was special circumstances due to the impact of Covid and the league reducing the finals series to just 2 weeks.
