In a system that actively promotes corruption, big 'ups to Port for playing Butcher and dropping Bruggemann. My money was on Butcher's back to take a dreadful turn for the worse a couple of hours before the game... or if he pulled rank and demanded to play, someone like Russell or Byrne-Jones being tapped on the shoulder and being told 2 hours before bouncedown that they had hamstring tightness.

Or maybe Port were just too witless to realise that not gaming the system to get Bruggemann in, and someone inferior out, could cost them a flag. And, it turns out, it quite possibly did. Price you pay for being a practice-match team, rather than a real SANFL club, I guess.
