Looks like hes trying to make an attempt to handball the ball so not to get paid holding the ball. "haymakers" would normally be reserved to someone "king hitting" or visably winding up to punch someone. The knee dropping is not a great look but again very little force used. Umpire handled it well.

It looks to me as though the knee was used with minimal force to stop the little jabs to the kidney area that the umpire wouldn't have seen from his angle.

Not a lot in it in any instance and the umpire can only judge on what he could see which appeared to be holding the ball from his angle.

Agreed. Haymakers is tounge in cheek.

Everyone punches the ball to attempt to get rid of it. This in this case was excessive as the ball was no where near where he was punching but 99s ribs was. Think 32 was mearly stopping what was going on. Once again with not enough force. The fact that when the ball was kicked away the guy that wqa punching found that he had to explain himself to no 32 as to why he did what he did on bottom of the pack, probably confirms it. They both talked anyway after and 32 even offered him a shake of the hand. It was all over and done with then.
The secret impresses no one. The trick you use it for is everything.

Great to see Hackham get on the board.
Judging on scores alone they have shown improvement.

On Saturday Ben Weekley celebrated his 250th A grade match with Mitchell Park Football Club. Ben started playing with MPFC during the 2003 season at the ripe old age of 17. From here Ben went on to win 8 A Grade Best & Fairest trophies during 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2014 and 2015. Ben was awarded the SAAFL Division 6 Player of the Year during the 2010 season before leaving for a short stint with PHOS Camden Football Club where he pursued playing Division 1 football.

Upon his return Ben went onto Captain the A grade side during the 2014, 2015 and 2016 seasons and was there to lead the team to a Division 7 Premiership in 2015. During the successful 2015 season he was also named as Captain of the SAAFL Division 7 Team of the Year.

Ben volunteered much of his time over the years and was instrumental in coaching our Under 8's to Under 10's during the 2015 to 2017 seasons. Ben also took on the role of Reserves Coach during the 2017 Season. Ben was awarded Life Membership of the Club in 2016 and named in the Mitchell Park Football Club Greatest Team of the first 50 years during our celebrations in 2018. Ben has always been well supported by his wife Tameka and children Sahra, Clayton and Nate and they have all become embedded in the Mitchell Park Football Club family.

Mitchell Park v Houghton looking just as important, with the loser putting themselves in serious danger of missing the 5.

Dont they always do that?

Not sure how much truth.. but talking to a lad who said they realise they're not in a position to be able to successfully manage going up the grades, and as a club are comfortable, and sustainable in D7.

Therefore, they look to create two even sides between their A / B grade, promote youth into the 1's where possible and look to win games, but not too many that they might find themselves in with a chance.

The trade off is collecting lower grade flags to keep spirits high around the place experiencing "success".

Apologies to the Lutheran faithful on the post above - clearly the lad I was talking to was well off the mark..

A far more reliable source said the above is a load of crap, and a part from the odd exception, players have never avoided playing where picked.

I'm sorry but the very clear and non anecdotal evidence suggests otherwise.

They won an undefeated reserves flag and got relegated from the same division for **** sake

Anyone that watches them can see there are many players more than capable of playing As strolling around in the 12:15 game. There's often good reasons for that - APPS, work, other commitments etc, but year on year on year on year?

Some of the best clubs going around have shit ovals. Look at the parklands. Your reasoning is utter rubbish.

PAOC sitting the top of D1 arguably have the shittest facility going around* (albeit the playing surface tends to cope well with rain relative to most other parklands/eastern suburbs grounds)

*hopefully for everyone's sake not for much longer

Abit harsh saying that Lonsdales oval has anything to do with there on field performances. Watching them play they seem pretty young maybe a couple older heads next year or something could help with the development of the young ones

bit of a salary cap difference ya stooges and bit of a private school empire feeding the club 20 years of students, nice try though

unlike mitchell park who pay their a-graders toasted cheese sandwiches and their best on ground award is a free game at the local lawn bowls club.

OSB have no facility and barely have car parks, they have stuff all juniors and are probably charging their agraders to play.

no facitlity is a bit hard to produce advertising or attract sponsors who want their name up in lights at the facilty.

no money no attracting better players, then no victories and only wooden spoons.
