Re: AFL Finals Week 1
I'm with GWS by 4 goals and Melbourne by less than 10 points.
Carlton beat Melb a few weeks ago and will be without Brayshaw and Van Rooyen and Gawn has a broken toe. We're without Harry (which isn't that big an issue) and Martin (which is), noting that last time we played Melbourne, we didn't have Harry anyway.
Into our side from that game are; McGovern, Cerra, Walsh. Outs are; Fisher, Martin, Dow. So, we're stronger, and they are arguably weaker but I do think we played our 'final' last week and Melbourne have been there done that.

Martin has arguably been our most important player in the 2nd half of the year.
He’s a massive out.
If TDK can match Gawn in the ruck it’ll go along way in deciding the outcome here.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Re: AFL Finals Week 1
Listening to the radio on Monday, Port have some big injury problems plus a bit of self doubt after the Brisbane game whilst GWS looked like they're enjoying the ride
It's anybody's game on Saturday night

Happens after wk1 of finals every time then the top 4 losing side beats the winning 5-8th side.

Completely agree. And the way we panicked but held on should hold us in better stead for this week too.
I still think Melksham is a huge loss for them.

Port's Last 2 months - 8 Games (most recent first)
Lost to lions by 48 points
Defeated 13th placed Richmond at Home, but Richmond were within 8 points with 10 mins to go.
Defeated 14th placed Fremantle by 16 points.
Defeated GWS at home.
Lost to Geelong.
Lost to Crows.
Lost to Collingwood.
Lost to Carlton.
The only "good" result in that is the GWS win. 1 out of 8 games.
GWS's recent games.
Defeated St Kilda in the elimination final.
Defeated Carlton to make finals.
Pumped Essendon.
Lost to Port.
Lost to Sydney by 11points.
And prior to that it was a 7 game win streak over: Bulldogs, Suns, Crows, Hawks, Melb, Freo, North
Yes Port are top 4 and GWS are coming from the bottom half of the 8, however I know which side is up and about and which isn't.
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

We are spluttering at best.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.

The AFL won’t be appealing the Tribunal’s decision on Brayden Maynard last night.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

Port need a fit and firey Dixon to win and when I saw him shuffling around on the news last night he's neither of those.
