Only just learnt of LM’s situation, take care of yourself mate.

Also, I read the Robbie Muir article yesterday and it genuinely made me sad. What he had to contend with in life and football made me feel sick to the stomach :(

I gotta get back on the horse mate, I'll be having a good chat with my boss today, as I did Friday too, he has been excellent since it occurred.

That is one of the most harrowing articles I have ever read.

The article made mention of Robert requiring a $28,000 shoulder op, sustained during his playing days at the Saints.

A go fund me page has been set up, and over $100k has been donated.

Wonderful to see.

Completely agree mate, unfortunately. So glad to hear he'll be able to get his shoulder fixed

I used to be mates with his son at Glenelg Primary, went to their place in Cliff St after school and met him, don't think I had ever been so scared in my life. Very quiet humble man though.

I was at Joplins late one Saturday night and we were having a few beers with Doug Hawkins, Robbie was there with two huge blokes and Dougie thought it would be a good idea to run around behind him and pinch him on the arse, Robbie wanted to kill him and I don't blame him, Dougie was a dickhead after a few beers.

It ended up being a pretty intense night, Dougie did something else that I wouldn't write on here, I have zero respect for him.

Have to agree, met him one night of all places in the Police Club and the look in those eyes at first i will never forget, i thought this guy is crazy, we ended up having a few beers and talking footy and his passion for the game was second to none, the look in the eyes eventually went but it was something i have never forgotten

Yeah I've come across him a few times, I wouldn't go near him if possible.
And that's from someone who regularly chats to Dave Granger!!!

Junior works here in the factory with me, he's been ready to move on for a while and seek some more earning capacity and personal growth, there's not much chance of it happening here but it's a secure job nonetheless.

Anyway, he's been teetering on a walk out for a while but my and Mum's advice ( and his work ethic ) has prevented him from doing that until he had some work lined up elsewhere.

He came in to have a chat with the boss this morning about having a few days off to clear his head, bit of a blow up as my boss is a prick with less than no inter personal skills and now we're in deathly silence.

My first and foremost concern is my son, this prick can go f*ck himself. My want to move on has just been increased, after 13 years the time was coming but this might be it for me.

What kind of boss behaves in that manner?!

Tell junior to take as much time off as he needs.

That's not a very responsible response from the boss.

The bloke is a robot, he has no people skills whatsoever.

I tolerate him at best, not for any longer and some on here may recall a couple of years ago an opportunity presented and I held back, there's another one out there that might be a good fit, a stop gap at worst, I'm all over that today.

Many moons ago, I had a similar boss - and I was dealing with a lot of personal stuff following splitting from my fiancé at the time and she took the house, was living on the lounge at a mates place.. lot of crap going on.

We had a similar run in one morning - I chucked a tanty, turned walked out and said I quit.

Turned out to be the best thing I ever did.
