We'll be right - hard to see it but in a better position now list wise than we were 12 months ago & can see Carr cleaning out a lot of the dead wood. Not like we were ever challenging for a flag this yr anyway.

Thought his presser was very good.

Unfortunately our depth continues to be exposed for how awful it is. Credit to WCE for hanging in there, thought the game shifted the last 5 mins before qtr time when in reality we should have put it to bed before then.

Think the likes of Jones, Mead, DBJ and co are all in trouble

Too much dead wood for my liking and a lot of it is list cloggers that we held on to for too long. Carr has got some tough days ahead, this is a 4-5 year project and hopefully the fans can try to understand that the results are going to happen overnight.

I'd rather rebuild than burn draft picks trying to fix cracks, it hasn't worked in recent times.

I thought they both looked ok yesterday without being standouts.. Brodie moreso than Wehr.

Is Brodie better than Wines though? Nah don't think so, but think maybe he could be a consistent player?

Don't know what others thought.

Got them for FA so I don't really have any opinion, a little too early to criticise though.

Out of respect for good Port people like Booney there is no great joy in writing this but it seems Carr knows he's been handed a sh!te sandwich based on the last few years as the club tried to achieve as much as it could out of what it had.

From the outside looking in it appears Port knows it's going to lose Butters so finish bottom 5-6 you're looking at a top 10 pick and three first rounders you'll try to get for Butters means you have an opportunity like Richmond two years ago to get some quality players in to rebuild the list with four first rounders. With Salopek likely to join in 2027 subject to any AFl changes to F&S rules.

A long year but trying to get the best out of a shit situation with the impending entry of Tasmania and a highly compromised 2027 draft.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Whilst I’m not a Port fan, they cost them nothing with the hope they may improve their list

I'd say Wines is in for Brodie this week - i was dissapointed with Brodie - thought his pre season game against the Crows was good but he was off the pace more than i expected yesterday. Watkins looks far better than Brodie

Wehr is meh - Durdin has been better than expected but again, the opposition have been as bad as we are

They will lose two of those first rounders to get Cochrane which is still a bargain

44 on the list.

13 are aged 19-21, happy to give them a pass for now.

31 left.
4 have played more than 150 games: Wines, SPP, Aliir and DBJ.
6 are good footballers: Rozee, Butters, Georgie, Bergman, Drew and JHF.
2 are also fine in their roles: Burgoyne and Lukosius.

After that, we have 19 left, most of which wouldn't get a game at a club that plays finals.

9 aren't worrying the opposition: Sweet, Marshall, Farrell, Ratugolea, Richards, Jones, Liddy, Sinn and Visentini
10 are list cloggers: Soldo, Wehr, Brodie, Zerk-Thatcher, Watkins, Mead, Lord, Durdin, Zadow, Mackinlay.

19 players, basically half the list that aren't winning us games of football.

There isn't much to be optimistic about.

You certainly have a way of pulling it all apart and telling it how it really is.

It seems even more horrific looking at it that way.
