Chick on the radio last week said she was closing her cafe after coming to the realization that $5-6 coffees meant she was losing money every time she sold one. Said that a coffee should be $7-8.50 for it to be a profitable exercise but Adelaide people and in particular her customers wouldn't be ready for that.

Return flight delayed by 2 hours

They are both as bas as each other

About 5 years ago with Virgin, 7:30pm ish Friday flight from Melb to Adel, plane arrives at the gate, passengers disembark, so start to get ready for the anticipated boarding message. Nope, they then announce that the flight is cancelled.

A quick check and there are no other flights to Adelaide that evening. It takes 3 hours for Virgin to book accomodation for all passengers on the cancelled flight. My allocated hotel is in the CBD (WTF) so I arrive there just before midnight.

My alternate flight schedule? 6am Melb to Bris, then transfer to a Bris to Adel flight 30 mins later. When I check in for the Bris flight the next morning, I assume that my checked in bag will be transferred for me at Bris airport, but the Virgin desk in Melb categorically state that I have to collect my bag in Bris and check it in again, WTF.

So I board the flight to Bris, and of course it’s running late (how the faark does a 6am flight get delayed?), so I assume that I’ll miss the connector back to Adel from Bris.

When I land in Bris, I have 10 mins to transfer my bag, but luckily the flight back to Adel is delayed so I manage to get it done.

The Virgin desk in Bris ask why I’m checking in my bag for the transfer flight and I politely let them know that the faarkwits in Melb told me I had to.

Anyway, after all this, I arrive home about 22 hours late after traversing half the country.

This was during a 9 month stint on a weekly fly-in fly-out stint to Melb, so felt like a lottery whether I’d get home each Friday night.

I've been ripping into my son for wasting money as he has been borrowing money off me lately, quite often for petrol to get to work. His headlights both blew within a week of each other so he waits til daylight to go to work, I wasn't aware until he asked to use my car to go to training Thursday. He just takes my criticism and feels bad about it.
Last night after another onslaught by me he finally spilt the beans, he is owed more than 4 weeks of pay from his boss, made me feel like shit but then I told him that he needs to speak up and not cover for his boss.
Going to be an interesting week.

I'll be getting to the bottom of it tomorrow, the lad wants to remain loyal to him but I've told him this has gone too far, it's not the first time he's slipped behind, either way, an 18 year old should be getting paid pretty much the same time each week, this was agreed upon last time.

I didn't want to get involved but sometimes you just have to as a parent.

Not my best effort though, many years ago managed to drill into a finger when using a chuck (remember those?) to change a drill bit whist on the roof. Classic case of the left hand not knowing what the right’s doing.
