Re: Political advertising
Bob Matter should have starred in Wolf Creek
Matty Wade is a star and deserves more respect from the forum family!

Re: Political advertising
Interesting I would've thought Bob Katter already had the redneck vote locked up in his electorate so this might be telling us something other than he's a complete lunatic.

This is Bob Katter's half brother Carl, who is running in the seat next to mine here in Victoria. I know him in passing, and he is a really nice bloke. Talk about chalk and cheese with his brother.

It's their lack of party allegiance that hides it.
They allow the fringe people in our society to latch on to them because of their 'independence' and the fact they're taking on the big boys.
Mark Aldridge is another one.
I also reckon the loonies on left/right would be a fairly equal split - with barely a thought you've managed to name five of from the right, which suggests that would be the case.

I'm not sure Lambie packs to the right..............
I'll name 5 left loonies for every right one..........
Unlike the left who just want everything their way and shout down any opposition, you need both as a balance

Re: Political advertising
Lambie's not right? I'd have thought her opinions on the military, Islam, refugees, The Greens and SSM put her on the right.
I don't think that meme is particularly helpful to any debate. It's an extreme representation of people who have beliefs in those things mentioned.
There would be many on 'the left' who don't think that way, just as there are many on the right who support SSM and equal opps for women.

The Greens put everyone on the right and just because some people dont agree with SSM, doesnt mean they're on the right.
That would mean these people are on the right:
Bowen
Burke
Emerson
Fitzgibbon
Gillard
Rudd
Swan
Zappia
etc etc etc

Amazingly, most have now turned and support it.
One asks the question: What happened in the past 4 years?
Oh yeah, now they have to buy votes
I think Zappia is the only Labor NO who still opposes it
(BTW; I support it)

In traditional political fashion, you've picked one topic out of a number to fashion your argument around it.
I think Lambie was also formerly a member of the Liberal Party. She also was elected as a PUP. I'm pretty certain you don't get selected by Clive if you're from 'the left'.

I just responded to your comment
Doesn't worry me whether she's right or left. She's just a nutjob

Maybe Lambie is to the 'left' of Jimmy though
Clearly she's a right-winger

As I said, I haven't taken much notice of her and don't give a toss what she thinks (which is the only clear thing I know)
Like Cory Bernardi said, I cant understand what she says half the time.....
Labor / Liberal are saying Nick X has voted with the Greens 75% of the time which shows I have NFI how they vote because I didn't know that.
Having said that; maybe all the independents voted together 60% of the time
Must say, I do love them both ganging up on poor Nick X. I reckon his vote will go up on the sympathy vote. Hopefully Don Farrell gets garroted again - that would be funny although SALabor Govt will just give him another trough of swill somewhere

Re: Political advertising
I enjoyed a political forum at Salt Church last night, featuring all of the candidates for the Wakefield electorate.
It was about two hour longs, with about half an hour dedicated to SSM and another half hour dedicated to Islam.
Might have been 10 minutes on jobs. No talk about Medicare, NBN or housing costs.
There's definitely a different climate than at the last election.

DW - any mention of Shorten saying he'll give permanent residency to 30,000 asylum seekers?
