41 in Elizabeth, if only that was still the rule.
Doesn't anyone want to play cricket anymore?
Maybe not for the 50% of teams that aren't in the Barossa...
So the rule is 40c in Nuri, pretty stupid playing in 40c temp but I have had my say on that before from the medical view, why there isn't a ruling to play it on the Sunday if its known to be cooler, same with rain=if its known to rain Sat but fine Sun ?? Just my opinion if others are allowed opinion.

If it was a rule that was already in place before the season probably wouldn't be so bad, but doubt you'd find many players who would be eager heading out on a Sunday to play even if Saturday was cancelled (or their partners letting them lol).
I know with our club, Sunday is either the recovery day for blokes to get over soreness before work, or it's "family day" and the wife has stuff planned and reserved for that day.

32 of the 50 senior teams in cooler climate. Could have a thermometer at the grounds and treat it like you would wet weather but then everyone would have to turn up. Or we could have games in Gawler/Freeling/Mallala go by Elizabeth and the rest go by Nuri, not really any different to it raining in one area and not in others or some teams putting covers and others not.
We could change it back to Elizabeth and have the cut off at 42 if you want? Its just an arbitrary number that has no right or wrong, just dictated by the level of whinging from people that dont really want to play cricket, Its a summer sport ffs

LOL this is so spot on!! There is one club in C&CCA whose been whinging all week saying the cut off should be 35!
Everyone uses safety risks as their excuse but i reckon it's a cop out - regular drinks breaks, cold showers, stay hydrated.. not hard to look after yourself on a hot day.

to me its not so much about safety but enjoyment - its really hard to find fill ins when its so hot. and the guys that play regularly but bat low down and dont bowl are more likely just to throw in the towel if they have to continually play in extremely hot weather
35 is way too low but 40 at the hottest parts of the comp seems like a good cutoff - not at one of the colder places
Port Pirie has a cut off of 42 I think the Riverland is the same, not sure on other areas in the state. Why is it ok for them to have 42 yet we cant have 40? 40 is 40 whether its in Nuri or Renmark. If it happens to be 41 or 42 in Freeling so be it.
The year it was 40 at Elizabeth there was 4 days lost and 3 of them were perfect weather for playing with cloud cover. If you want the early notice of games being called off it has to be as it is now imo. If you are prepared to turn up on Saturday or wait until the forecast on Saturday then there could be potential for more flexibilty. Pretty sure no one will go for that

Thanks Macca, Just after a answer about Sundays not private message abuse-you answered for me and your probably right, Some people probably have pre arranged arrangement's, Thanks.

Yes Angaston runs the comp. You'll be alot happier within yourself once you accept it. They have 18 votes whilst the other 17 clubs have just the one each, its in the fine print.
