Yeah, a bit wrong.
Only 1 of the Walkerville 3 teams has a bye there too.
Should have some double headers so the kids having a bye can play against the leftovers from the other teams, I'm sure there's enough around, 12 per team hey?

SANFL have been excellent to deal with and we are looking forward to our first games this Sunday, 16.5's heading to old SFL rival Brighton and 14's to Woody South for Round 1.
I did hear a rumour that Northern clubs created a fuss about travelling to Port Noarlunga who are in u13's comp, thought surely not, however notice they have only been given 3 home games so maybe this is true???
Lot of games today didn't have enough umpires!! Some umpires didn't even turn up. This is the problem with reducing all the team numbers to less players, then you require a lot more umpires to umpire more games. Which the SANFL don't have.

Had a young lad who plays 16’s at Ingle Farm - he did our 8’s game then raced and did another game at Pooraka and then other umpire didn’t show then had to come back and do a 12’s game.. he was spent and had his own game to play.
Then 13’s game only one umpire showed poor guy was old and overweight and Ingle Farm is a big ground.. but he battled hard.
Lady told me today there was about 25 spots left unfilled this week - SANFL have cited a range of unforeseen unavailabilities as the cause.

Was told they where 15 to 20 short, but the games we where told we would have umpires didn't turn up.! Also last year I was told a umpire could say get 2 or 3 games at 1 ground e.g. - 7's, 8's. 9's etc. but now they are only issued offered 1 game at that ground. Not sure if this correct as this what I was told today. We had a young kid who did a u10 game which could of done u11 straight after but instead had to rush off to another ground, then the u11 umpires don't turn up!

We had 2 umpires in each game we had and all 4 were excellent I thought.
Using Burley footballs sucked though, does the AdFL use them exclusively also?

One of the smartest things I've read on here, I don't think they took that into consideration.

Generally i find good kicks are normally ok with both. Less margin for error with Burleys however the more you use them there is less of an issue. Should be using them at training if possible.

Hard for us as we use Sherrins in SFL. What I found was strange is SANFL insist on Burleys but don't have a supplier agreement with Burley so clubs can get them less than retail price.
Is there some sort of 10 goal mercy rule? I notice all the games with margins over 10 goals have reverted back to 10 goal wins for the winners? How does that work?

Stats count but anything over 10 goals the margin gets cut off.
It's common practice in junior footy all over Australia Dutchy. Clubs still enter the actual scores and then the league adjusts any games where the margin was more than 60 points back to a 60 point margin. Not sure if this applies for U15 and U16.5 but definitely from U14 down for the grades where scores are recorded. Silly thing is that you can add up the goalkickers and work out how many goals the winning team kicked anyway.
