Clearly Safework SA is in there to investigate another tragic accident, the loss of another life on the site. 2 in under 2 years.
Some questions need answering.
They were talking about it on radio this morning The first death was when raising and only one operator They then brought in a dual operation rule Apparently, they were going down a corridor with two people operating it and the unfortunate man got jammed in the door frame

How many cars have proximity sensors on them nowadays? Surely a scissor lift could have the same device installed to ensure ( as far as reasonably practicable ) that this doesn't occur again.
Go to work on a Saturday to put food on the table, don't come home. Terribly sad for all involved.

The surviving operator is naturally shattered, they had apparently passed under this door frame numerous times that day without incident which leads to the lift malfunctioning at a critical moment

This is your field so you know more about this than me The union guy said on radio these scissor lifts don't have sensors on them Did it malfunction if it didn't have a sensor? (Maybe we shouldn't be talking about it......)
seriously though, workplace deaths are terribly sad, i cant imagine someone saying goodbye to their loved one before work and then them never coming home again

Yes very sad and unexpected in that he was an Engineer so something you would not expect when doing your Uni course.

It is if you are in a car, so i cant see how this would be any different. Though im unsure what constitutes "pulling over to the side of the road" on a bike. If the bike was out of traffic on the side of the road then no idea
