This series has been an absolute belter and is exactly why all test series should be played over 3 matches.

India didn't want three tests. Biting them on the arse now.

I think 3 Tests should be the minimum, and I'd love to see Australia play both England and South Africa over 5 Tests.

5 tests are hard, impossible to fit into the schedule. And any more than 3 tests for a series that doesn't involve two of England India Australia will never happen either I don't think.

Having said that, once every couple of years I would love to see some sort of carnival where Australia rock up and play one off tests against Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, etc etc. otherwise I can't see us playing either of them any time soon

Bangladesh should tour here in our winter, play in North Queensland and Darwin.

Yeah, by the sounds of things the major playas want a two tier system for test cricket.

Though, NZ are currently showing why that idea is horseshit.

2003 it was, wow.

We went to Bangladesh in 2005/2006.

So that makes 4 tests in 14 years of tests.

Australia have played 3 tests in 22 years against Zimbabwe too.

Agree. Although given the current system whereby they can just arrange tests however they see fit, this system is already in place.

See above posts. 1-0 up in a two test series. Entirely sensible for them to keep batting imo. Series win against India, even at home, is massive for them

shit like that destroys test cricket, obviously thinks his bowlers cant cut it, cowardly captaincy by mccullum, would love to see india chase down the 425 on the 67 overs left cos thats what the kiwis deserve, 2 test series or not

NZ declared at 8/680

McCullum out for 302

India need 435 to win off 67 overs

New Zealand are leading the series and controlling the match. It's up to India to get back the control of the match and win. Much like a shield final where the home team prepares a pitch for a draw, its up to their opposition to beat them....

But imagine how epic a victory for NZ would be. To win this test from nowhere and then go 2-0.

That's the sort of cricket that says '**** your two tiers'

Agree Sleepy
But would this be to the detriment to cricket?
NZ MUST bat on and on and on and snuff out India , and win a 2 Test series
2 Tests is a poor way to play a series

The short attention spanned peoples of the world would be disappointed
Conversely they might be more attracted to the 20/20 RESULT format of cricket
