Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 5 - 2020
The Gilmour stuff on the memories of the SAAFL page is brilliant.
Dont know the bloke and haven't had much to do with Kenilworth but from appearances he's the exact person who makes this league tick.
Wishing him all the best tomorrow

If you ever bump into LK anywhere, get him to tell you a few stories about Mick.

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 5 - 2020
I’ve known Mick for close to 30 years since I was a 7 year old kid. At his peak he was an absolute beast and he whilst he knew it too - He was also as harder worker on the track as anyone.
Mick at his peak is one of the best Amateur footballers I’ve seen, but when the Kenilworth Football club was truly on its knees in the mid 90’s Mick could have played for any club in SA - From there the club had a meeting about its existence after an extremely tough period. Mick stood up and said the club would not fold here and now (It was far easier to fold at that point). Mick at that point took a group of players to Art Bradshaws house to discuss the clubs options and effectively get Arts blessing. Until Art and Bill passed Mick would go see both to have a chat and shake their hands before he went in to the rooms every week.
Mick is not all bees and honey - He’s been sacked by the club numerous times as is the Kenilworth joke. There are times he shits you but I’d never question his toughness/aggression at the contested footy, resilience, overall ability and most of all I admire the way he has gone about representing the club and the league on field. You have to be a bit crazy to be playing still at 53 years of age - He still plays ok too! Toughest footballer I’ve seen and a great family friend.

Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

I can see Smiffies pulling one out of the hat and knocking off CLG, hopefully I'm wrong plus PFC have a win.
To be honest it's just been great to watch footy, it hasn't happened everywhere.
From what i have seen I'd be surprised if Kenilworth and Lockleys didn't play off in the GF.
A win at CLG would be near impossible for a team that would never have played there previously.
Yes they have

2 very interesting games coming up next week. Some of the logistics aren’t kind and you’d be expecting some venue and time changes.

That was my number 1 concern prior to yesterday if we didn’t get 2nd spot. The logistics of playing B’s at Salisbury and A’s at CLG would had been a nightmare. I’m sure you will have some changes to times at least.

I think the league will give us the option of hosting a stand alone reserves home final. They should look at changing the c grade match to CLGFC aswell

Rumour from Rutland: regardless of result. Current Coach will be upgraded just like the club rooms and not be the Coach in 2021. Heading South West of the City.
Hopefully I can break my drought and win a game at para hill

I’d be genuinely shocked if any club playing finals was looking any further than the next match on or off the field to be honest. Different year compared to any other and the only thing you can control right now is your next result.

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 5 - 2020
Looking forward to the drive up Fiveash drive to Kenilworth this weekend
Kenilworth will be looking to atone for a disappointing finals campaign in 2019, while our boys have nothing to lose going in outsiders after being beaten by 10 goals at kenilworth earlier in the year. This is our first a grade finals series since 2015. Along time coming
