I agree. Eagles are clearly the form team of the league and should be favourites. Eagles flag to lose.

Eh? How is a club's history any indicator of its current form?

I'd examine your logic a bit more closely, because according to your reasoning the Eagles would be unbackable favourites to lose the grand final.

My personal opinion is the pressure on the Club after not winning for over half a century will be immense, and I doubt they will handle it. Think there are several teams with better lists also, so think they finish around 4th.

I think the Eagles are the form team. We haven't played North or Norwood yet. Heck, even West will be a test after they beat Glenelg last game.

I think this proves that this year is so even and there isn’t a clear favourite yet,

let wait until the midpoint when everyone played each other once before talking premiership favourites

I am sure at some point we were favourites in 1991 and that didn’t end well

We had never won a flag and yet were favourites in 2000 at this stage. Past history means nothing compared to the current season.

Especially these days in the SANFL:

2015 - Westies broke a 32 year drought
2016 - Sturt broke a 14 year drought
2018 - North broke a 31 year drought
2019 - Bays broke a 33 year drought

All with arguably larger supporter bases than South. The weight of expectation from fans exists at every club if they're around the mark regardless of the time between drinks (imho)

7 seconds may not seen like a long time
Ive seen games when sides have scored in the last 7 seconds of quarters
Ive seen games when players shoot for goal on the quarter end siren and scores allowed or disallowed in close to a split second
