Hmmm..interesting how do you measure "progressing forward" in what's widely recognized as one of the best programs in the country?
Paul Vandenbergh is an amazing individual who would do more than you could even possibly dream up in one of your anti-Port wet dreams and the program he oversees should only be admired.
Unbelievable that I'm arguing with you about it, but that's your call because I'll defend it to the hilt.
So you know as fact it’s the best in the country?
Puhlease!!

This suggests to me that everyone else is making more of an effort these days and succeeding in their programs. We should celebrate all the programs as a massive step forward from as little as 20 years ago.
Nah mate Port do it the best. Just asks them!
But yes it’s great that other clubs have great programs which are considered the norm these days.

Again, I said "one of the best" not the best. "One of the best" not "the best"

I found it staggering that recent departures of Impey, Wingard, Ah Chee and Amon wanting out were attributed to Vandenbergh.
So why Would 4 indigenous players leave the greatest indigenous programme the afl has ever seen in the last 24 months then ???
Genuine question.
Let me guess Hinkley ???
Mate what’s obvious to some isn’t always obvious to others.

Given you’ve lost 2 indigenous players in 2 years do you think all things are great at Port?
Sooo your opinion on their aboriginal programs is based on two players of aboriginal ethnicity leaving the club in the past two years?
No one is doubting other clubs do things well, but your initial suggestion was that Port have not progressed much in this area, particularly in comparison to other clubs.

IMO Port haven’t progressed as much as other clubs. They were leaders years ago and clubs copied and adopted their model.
I’m not saying Ports programme is terrible, I just think from what I know that other clubs have progressed further.
I think Williams had a lot more say than what Hinkley does and also Williams had a better relationship with the indigneous players than what Hinkley does.
