Round 11 Eagles v North Sunday 1440
Match of the round with 1 v2. Not often the top 2 teams both go into a match against each other with both having lost the week before.
Earlier in the year the Eagles beat North by 15 points with North finding it difficult to score after half time after a good start,
Winner of this will almost certainly get a double chance.
Early tip is the Eagles at home.

Re: Round 11 Eagles v North Sunday 1440
We need to sort out our rucking situation given J Hayes won't play this week. We can't have West playing alongside Redden as it makes the team too slow. We will go in shorter this week.
A couple of injuries to key players on the weekend will certainly make things tougher.
I wouldn't expect Goldsworthy to be return, and not sure whether Lowson is match-fit yet. Similarly Lonergan would want to have a few games in the reserves to find some fitness and prove he is over his injuries before returning. I'd assume Pudney will come in to cover Hall. Not sure who will replace Toumpas?
I could see Sheedy throwing another curve ball this week and going with an untried youngster. Maybe even Poulter from the U18s?

This game could decide minor premier with only 3 games after Sunday. Does anyone know the format of the finals? It was mentioned at one stage that if games are played at suburban grounds then the highest ranked team has home advantage. So although 1 &2 get a double chance, the HG advantage could play a big part in the season outcome.

No no no, finals are at Adelaide Oval.
There is no difference between coming 1st and 2nd just as there is no difference between coming third or fourth.
South has a reasonably easy run home so both Eagles and North will want to win to stay clear of them, not to come 1st or 2nd

Re: Round 11 Eagles v North Sunday 1440
Keep West in while Jack Hayes is out. Play Redden mainly forward and give West a big workload in ruck. I’d rather manage the loads and why risk Von Bertouch in ruck when the result really doesn’t matter too much. Better to be primed for finals.
I’d guess Pudney and Mead in for the injured Hall and Toumpas. See how Mansell goes on ball? If Lowson isn’t injured I’d get him straight in, the more league games under his belt the better.
No risking injured players at this stage. Bigger fish to fry!

Last two matches of the season against those easy beats Norwood and North?
Every team plays each other twice so the run home is irrelevant. I’m certainly not counting Sturt and West as “easy”, who knows what will happen.
Anyway, an intriguing finish to the season awaits and Eagles v North will be a cracker!!

Confused as well Panther. I think that means North and Eagles will want to win so they stay top 2 .

Are SANFL finals locked into Adelaide Oval? Does this depend on AFL requirements?

Not for North unless Central make a late run at the finals, don't care about the rest.

Looks like Davies and Minervini are lining up in the reserves for the Roosters.

Eagles completely ouplaying North but behind on the scoreboard by a goal half way through the first. North are kicking with a good breeze.
LOL at the red "19" balloons in the outer.

LOL, 4 kicks in a row out of bounds, two to each team, like an ugly game of tennis. I've never seen that before
Eagles still the better team but North somehow 11 points up at quarter time. Eagles with the breeze in the 2nd.
