Medical Marvels and Mythicals
Theres plenty of well known Food and Medicines and Alternatives that assist with well being
Theres also some strange, or unknown remedies
I keep reading or seeing about these in the press, TV and on the Internet
Some remedies have stood the test of time,
Some are new and unproven
Some can be considered as balderdash, and perhaps $$$ motivated schemes
Now the question is
What are some of these food , medicines and alternatives that are considered factual or fictitious ?

I find pineapple/pineapple juice very good for hayfever.

Re: Medical Marvels and Mythicals
I can vouch for one that I had been told about, but had treated with a high degree of skepticism until now.
Long story short, after a footy injury made it much worse (was at the front of a pack when the whole pack collapsed on me), I've had chronic back pain for many, many years. Some mornings very difficult to get out of bed and difficult to walk easily many days. It has made life pretty ordinary at times, and I try not to fall into the painkiller path if I can help, but at times, its unavoidable.
Someone recommended a treatment called acupotomy to me a while back and a specialist at Klemzig in particular. I was able to get a referral to him after a time, and saw him for the first time last week. The treatment was a bit brutal at times, but at the end of the first treatment, I moved freely, pain free (apart from external bruising on my back) and bent up and down easily for the first time in 20 years.
Went for my second treatment yesterday and feel even better today. Have slept soundly for the last week (many nights, I would be awake with the pain) and my hamstrings don't feel nearly as tight either.
I wouldn't have believed it had I not experienced it myself, and will recommend the specialist to anybody now. He is very stringent on the referral process and it is a very specific process, but this last week has been outstanding for me and I could not recommend this more highly.

INSOMNIA
Many people suffer from this condition
For years , Ive tried various techniques to try and get some sleep, with varying degrees of success
Im in bed and just cant get to sleep
I get all churned up
Im stressed
When I get short of breath, I have learnt this perhaps little known technique
I get out of bed, I start watching TV
I take a deep breath, holding for as long as possible, and breathe out very slowly
I then hold a paper bag over my mouth and nose, breathing into the bag, all the time keeping as much air in the bag as possible
I do this for up to 5 minutes
Then watch a bit more TV until droopyish
I then get back to bed in a more relaxed state
Ive tried this about 50 times over the last 5-10 years
I reckon its worked for me about 80 % of the time to get to sleep
Even if it dosent, Im more relaxed in bed without sleeping

So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

TINEA
This one is fair dunkum
My mate Panther [an occasional Safooty poster] bravely wore no footwear in the wet room of a Gym
He got Tinea
We asked this fellow about Tinea treatment
He suggested a cheaper alternative to Tinea Creams
The solution , soak your Tinea in your own urine
Panther tried it, it worked !
The piss was cheaper than the cream !

I'm guessing that if he reads this, he is less likely to come and post? A nickname of Pissy Feet could come out...

Depends on the strain. Indica is good for sleep, while a Sativa can be the opposite.
