Wow, makes things interesting. Izzy gone and no Big Al as speculated. It must be MHS for mine as he is the only one capable in my opinion. Problem for the Libs is that he is unlikely to resolve current divisions within the party. Looks like Labour got a late Christmas present.

Agreed.

Cant believe the state ALP are making terrible mistakes and the LIbs are DOING nothing and SAYING nothing.

The Libs really need someone to stand up and have the guts to get stuck into the ALP for their pathetic management of this state.

Someone please make a stand!!!

Maybe I should.....or Skypilot ??? ;)

Loved Weatherill's comment about "this is typical liberal in fighting".....ahhhh...seen a mirror Jay??

Agreed, SA Labour are an easy target for any opposition with it's sh1t together. The Libs should have Labour by the throat at the moment. I find it very difficult to understand why there is such infighting when they could seemingly claim government with ease if they were united. Surely they owe it to the party faithful to stop the internal turmoil, and if not, the party faithful should **** them off and get people into office who will act in the best interests of the party.

Given the past 10 years, it would seem neither will the Libs, Skypilot.
I look forward to seeing what Marshall can do if he gets the gig. There will be a sense of unpredictability about him, I suspect.
If Downer doesn't run...what have his incomplete 'denials' achieved? He's as much at fault in this scramble as anyone.

Who would have thought Port Pirie would be such a political hot spot over the past two days?

I've heard from a pretty good source Labor is terrified of Downer taking over the Liberal leadership.

Yes, I'd heard that on the radio as well. They should be - he would bring a lot of voting/financial support.

I must admit I laugh when I hear that Downer is the experienced wise head that will bring stability to the Liberals when his recent self indulgence in the 'phoney' leadership war has at least partly caused Redmond's demise and fuelled the instability.
