Running Shoes
It's about that time again when I have to get a new pair of running shoes...
I have always been a fan of Asics however might be keen on something new.
What do you all have and what are the pros/cons of them?

Re: Running Shoes
Mizuno wave Prophecy 2 seems to be the glam shoe.
People who bought this book also bought a stool and some rope. Unknown literary critic

Re: Running Shoes
Asics have been my running shoes of choice ever since I started running, the GT 2100 series are very good.
Wiggle don't sell them online anymore so have tried the Mizuano Wave Inspire 9 and have been very impressed.
Very similar to Asics in fit, comfort & stability.
Will have to see how durable they are, normally get 800-1000ks out of a pair of Asics.

Re: Running Shoes
Currently wearing Nike Vomero 6
Got them for extra support around the ankle and heel area after busting an ankle a couple of years ago.
Haven't had any problems with them at all and certainly not experiencing any pain in my feet at all

Re: Running Shoes
I've managed to find an online store that sells asics...not too bad prices
at this stage I am thinking of going Nimbus 14 as they seem to be the best for a neutral runner
I would love the Kayano 19's but they are apparently suited to a moderate overpronator so what that would do to me being a neutral runner i dont know...
I am a big fan of wiggle also and have a pair of Mizuno Wave Ascends for trail running. I am not a big fan of that particular shoe...but maybe the road running versions are better.

Re: Running Shoes
I'm a massive Asics fanboy although New Balance runners go alright, my last three pair of runners have been NB, they're great shoes, tough and reliable and last for ages, they're always reasonably priced too. I thrash my runners and NB runners seem to hardly get tore up at all. Love my current pair, they're very comfortable, haven't had any trouble with them since I've wore them.

Re: Running Shoes
I switch between the vomero and the nimbus, depending on the colours at the time. Very little difference between the 2. Both neutral shoes to drop the orthotics into.

Buy overseas if you want Asics.

Re: Running Shoes
Been Asics 2100 series for years.
Seem to be good, solid and reliable, perhaps slightly weighty in the heel for those wanting a bit more speed. I'm a bit afraid to try something different.
Always go through Joggers World, they put me onto the Asics years ago and would post out to the country before the days of Internet shopping, so happy to buy through them regardless of price.

Even better.

Re: Running Shoes
Do all my short quick runs in NB minimus road, and long runs in a Nike Volmero, but am currently getting into a lightweight NB neutral shoe 890 v2 for the long runs. Highly rate all my NB shoes.
I have worked hard on my running technique and that has eliminated a lot sore spots accumulated from running - My advice is to look at how you run and modify that before relying on high tech shoes to prevent injury.

Re: Running Shoes
Have a pair of Asics Kayano and also a pair of NB - i like both, but for some reason find the NB more comfortable and lighter. Think i'd go with them again next time.
I'm proud of you fellas. You all kept your head on a swivel, and that's what you gotta do when you find yourself in a vicious cock fight!

Re: Running Shoes
I wear Nimbus, suggested by Podiatrist, seem to be suitable for my foot.
He said either these or Brooks Gelatin, but they looked shithouse in the shop so I passed on them.

Re: Running Shoes
I have Brooks... few years old now but I love them. Great for my feet (completely flat on the sides)
Specifically for running in a straight line - don't try and play squash in them

New model Kayano's are light, but the 3030 has better overall structural support IMO.
