A huge effort to make Back to Back GF and become one of the higher placed divisional clubs in the northern area. Not bad considering 5 years ago they were meant to be in Div 7. On that note, congratulations must go to Azza and Karl Boos for making Carey Payne an offer he could not refuse. To turn the club around the way he has with his recruiting is testament to the guy he is. People will always bang on about him not being the best coach but to me he is a bloke that players want to play for. A guy who keeps people around a club and a guy you just want to do well for. I wonder if the guys who made the decision at Eastern Park now regret letting him go.
Cossie I am glad you are learning your lessons from the worse captain the club has ever had. Always, Always, Always kick with the breeze in the first quarter.
Hopefully the game delivers a cracking game and the score board favors the might tigers from the lodge. For me Lodge by 12- 24. Best on Aloisi with 6 goals.
What do you think will happen once he leaves? A few will go with him? Looks like we're now on the hunt for an ANZAC Day opponent at Hope Valley next year. Was meant to be you guys..
All depends where he goes. With the points system you can no longer take a whole side with you. Hopefully after Saturday back to back GF wins will keep players around. Nothing keeps people together like prolonged success

Yeah hard to pick. I think the guys in the back line is hard. By reading the best players you learn to recognise mids and can work out who the good forwards are by reading best players and goal scorers. Defenders are harder to judge.
Our BnF could come from our back 6 but with so many good mids in the comp, it's hard to get them Into a best 22

Are many at Brahma enjoying the irony that next season they'll be in a higher division than EP?
I can say this as I don't hold any official ties with the club. EP are set up better for success in the long run because of the junior aspect. Brahma Lodge will need to ensure there junior program is growing year by year. If the club keeps going on the path they are going then they are only 5 years away from under 18's. Then the club will have the structure in place to stay around div 3/4. If the juniors fall away so could the club. 1 bad year and the wheels could really fall off, greenacres style (Please don't take that as an attack at the club)
I am a great fan of Carey and his football knowledge which he clearly knows. We had a discussion at a mates place a couple of Saturday nights ago about this subject. As a club that ended up going into Division 1 vindicated the decision made, whether Carey could gave done the same is open to conjecture of course. Also as many as 7 current A graders at Brahma have played at EPFC including Carey's lad who came to us to hopefully to improve his footy and based on his performances this year maybe we did teach him a thing or two. At one stage last year Brahma has 3 x EPFC A grade B&F's playing for them. We have never had an issue with players seeking to play at a differnt club and as stated above we rely on bringing our juniors through the system to play senior footy.
As I have done throughout BL's finals I have wished them every success and hope Carey and his lads finish off the season with a flag

Thanks Wazz hope u are all down there and supporting the lodge in full voice on sat...
My tip is Plympton. I have tipped against the Lodge for the last 2 weeks and its worked a treat. Good luck to Payney and the lads as they chase Back to Back GFs. It takes a special club to do that but Plympton have to go in as faves and should get the job done.

I promise on my return we will get a flag together
