The SANFL in 2014 - Better or Worse?
Did the 'SANFL' music die for some people today or is it the start of something even better ... one way to find out is to ask the right people.

I voted for "Worse - Goodbye. I'm off to the Ammos or country footy!" only because there's no option for "Worse - Goodbye. I'm off to do something else in my life"...

No option for me.
I'm now a Carlton fan, no longer a Crow.
Will continue to follow Sturt with a passion.
Hoping the league will be better but unsure.

I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Well since the maggies as we know them are dead I don't really have a choice. I'm done with the SANFL after 15 years. Very sad. Ammos for me!

Shouldn't this poll be done after the 2014 season???

For me, the SANFL improves. Finally, the comp doesn't consist of 9 hybrid teams. Finally, Norwood are actually Norwood, Glenelg are actually Glenelg, Sturt are actually Sturt and so on and not artificially enhanced by players loaned from other teams
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

Agree with that no more results decided by who has more AFL listed players playing for them. Better for the SANFL clubs to only have to deal with their own players, better for clubs, players and supporters.
However having 2 AFL reserves teams in the SANFL is worse for the league, but I'll just not watch those games and hope like crazy those teams don't feature in the SANFL finals!!!!!!

Has to be better for what pafc1870 has said above.

I'll just attend home games, and the south away game. I won't be spending any money at the bendover clubs. Won't happen, but the perfect scenario would be a top four of cd, south, port, crows.

Worse. Hate that the AFL clubs have got their way but I've always been Glenelg, always gone to the games and love taking the family and catching up with mates. Won't throw away that just because things didn't go my way. Doubt the motivation will be too high to go the Bays v Crows/Power 'support' teams though

Will your club boycott the other games too? Nope, they are not that childish.
And I don't see the dogs dining out on a holier than thou attitude like yourself.
Make yourself useful and actually go on and do something constructive to oppose the crows/power in the SANFL if it means that much to you.

Rather than having nine teams topped up by players from 2 other teams (in a different comp) we will have 2 clubs topped up by players from the other 8 teams from the same comp.
Equality has been restored.

No my club won't boycott, unfortunately they don't have a real option. Admittedly, it doesn't mean that much to me that I try to have six boards voted out. It's easier just to boycott on principle, something I don't agree with. It could be constructive. If many who disagree with the vote didn't go, maybe then the bendover boards would have to listen.

Re: The SANFL in 2014 - Better or Worse?
The league will clearly be worse, with 8 dinkum teams forced to play scratch matches for underperforming AFL-listed players.
I will never - NEVER - attend a game featuring one of the two practice teams.
Keep up the struggle. Whether these arseholes are forcibly ejected from our competition or choose to leave for greener fields (when the AFL reserves comp starts up in a few years) I do not care - but keep up the pressure until they are gone.
SANFL FOREVER

The above would still have been achieved if the Clowns and Smears had taken their players and set up shop in the ammos, a dedicated AFL reserves comp, or even in the SANFL reserves - with the added benefit that Our Sovereign Competition would not have been screwed over.

Aren't the PAM going to have Power players loaned to them? And aren't the Crows going to have top up players loaned to them?

Re: The SANFL in 2014 - Better or Worse?
Time will tell but no matter what I will be at the game screaming for my beloved Redlegs.
Interestingly a friend who came over from Melbourne for the GF and follows Collingwood said the VFL is still good to watch. He goes to Collingwood VFL games too and says they regularly get 3 - 4,000 people and that the die hards also follow their VFL reserves team.
Not comparing Crows supporters to Collingwood supporters but if the Crows and Port have around 2,000 die hards attending plus the SANFL die hards we may well see a crowd and interest increase.

For me, having reserves teams in the SANFL is a farce, and is much, much worse than the status quo. Only someone interested in the AFL and almost nothing else would think it will improve.
I won't be attending next year, but enjoy watching your reserves league.
