My information comes from three sources and I know which board member led the charge...
So I have faith in what I've been told.
Unfortunately its not likely the full story will ever be publicised.
Well, and not for the first time on this forum, CS Bowes you are emphatically wrong.
8 posts... well you've been around a while.
Well what are your sources, not asking names. I'm guessing you might know or are a board member, which would be interesting.
I can only put forward what I've been told. If it's wrong, I'll have no way of knowing since I'm not on the board, but I have no reason to doubt the people who told me this or that.
Phil H has the same info as me, so its not just me you're saying has it wrong.
Maybe you're wrong? Always possible.
Can your sources confirm if the memorabilia story is true?
I didn't know on this forum you had to have over 1000 posts to be considered as knowing what your talking about. The fact is that Matt Benson was not sacked, asked to leave or pressured to leave. End of story. So consider csbowes and Big Phil as both being wrong. Good story ruined by inaccuracy I'm afraid.

I think the Phil they are referring to is the one that dodges replying with facts on many posts .

....and not the Phil who thought that GANGgajang was best known for a hit entitled "This Is Australia"?

No.. the comment about 8 posts was in reference to you saying I've been wrong a bunch of times. As you've only been on here for 5 minutes, it makes it difficult to believe you can talk with authority on this...
Other people on here however, heaps of experience in reading some of my crap... with nearly 1500 posts, there's little chance I haven't been wrong a heap of times, just a matter of finding those sweet examples. So that being the case, tell me what other facts I've got wrong elsewhere, since you are putting yourself forward as an authority on my errors?
But, again, on this one, you are dead wrong. He jumped because he knew the knife was coming.
Too many sources close to the club telling me the same thing.
Others on here with, I would assume, different sources, also saying the same thing.
If you think you know for a fact, explain how... I didn't ask you to name names, we all don't want to expose sources publicly, but I've recently been given just far too much information on his performance to believe he wasn't targeted for termination.
Here's a good starting point, is the club being sued or threatened to be sued over the memorabilia scandal?

Re: Benson resigns at Sturt
I heard from a normally reliable Surt source that Sturt's financial woes have been solved with a donation of $1 million from a former player who is worth $150 million. He named the former player but I had never heard of him. The only proviso regarding the donation was that Matt Benson had to go.
Anyone else know anything of this?

Re: Benson resigns at Sturt
So is there really a million dollar donation from a former player or not ?
Is it from a deceased estate or a wealthy businessman in his 40's? I've heard both versions.
Was it contingent on CEO no longer being there?
Massive story if true.

I don't know for sure, but i don't believe its from a deceased estate. There are a few estates promising funds for the club, but they are a while away from being deceased estates.

Re: Benson resigns at Sturt
I don't know. Sorry if you were being sarcastic.
I don't know the details of the estates in question. It's not something I'm across.
Maybe someone can ask the club at the AGM in February.
