Yep I agree with you on that point. Your question was would Glenunga win a game or be the suprise packet?
If they lose some KPP's in the A's, then their depth in the B grade suggests it could be a battle to stave off relegation. Healthy A grade squad and they could be right in the mix for finals.
Put Golden Grove in the same situation, and yes, as we have seen, their depth wasn't up to winning A grade finals given some key injuries, but GG have the depth to survive in the division given worst case scenario. Glenunga IMO, may not.
On GG depth, I can't see anyone beating them in the reserves... Hope valley would be the best to challenge them i reckon.
Certainly the team to beat.
If last years results are indicative we have Hectorville to get past first..
Our young lads and 18's have been really impressive so far this pre-season with their willingness to learn and get amongst the senior lads. We will get our first look at a majority of them tomorrow, and I for one cant wait to get out there and see what they can deliver.

Hope Valley missing a few players today? Thought they looked a tad heavy and slow, haven't seen them play for two years but they will need a fair amount of improvement between now and round one to be considered a contender

We were at full strength, gonna struggle this year I reckon. See you ANZAC Day.
Fitzroy will do very well this year. Excellent game plan and some quality recruits. Will play finals.

According to my mate playing for fitzroy, fitzroy had there two vice captains out. Also Robbo brodhurst, Hargraves and Scott Bailey. Think they will be strong from what I sore.
Hope valley looked a bit slow and didn't react to the fitzroy zone. But very early. Improvement in both teams I'm sure.
Don't take too much notice of trial games, hope valley still looked ok,had several quality players out, they will be ok come round 1.just worry about glenunga ramming.

Thanks to the Hope Valley boys for the game yesterday--Played in the right spirit--Thought both sides had there moments. No-one is full strength at this time of year SDemon. Good to see Lisa and Charlie again All the best to hope valley in 2014--I think they will go pretty well
Pooraka had a good 6 quarter hit out against Adelaide Lutheran. Was good to blow the cobb webbs out. There was a big breeze going to one end of the ground and also had to play on a makeshift oval. Game was a bit scrappy with both teams having plenty of numbers around the ball. Not sure on a final score but was a good even game i reckon.

seems to be a very hasty and foolish comment..

Define quality for me? Would you like us to throw Ablett, Swan, Beams and Franklin into the mix..
Glenunga will do very well in Div 4, they will push for finals.
All I can say is, no matter what happens for us in terms of results this year, we are still better off than what we were going into this season and that's a positive for the club. Worst case scenario we go back to Div 5. Regardless the club has made the right decision.

I'm not saying that your wrong, but I always thought that moving up grades with momentum is better. Kilburn went to Div 2 before they were ready and ended up sliding back to Div 4 in the next two years. Different grades I know but if Glenunga are pushing for finals in div 4 then they would be flag faves in div 5. One thing I disagree with is your worst case scenario, this could be a bigger worst case than you think. A premiership at a club is 100% better than a relegation at any grade.
