marbles wrote:this whole move is surely a grab at ensuring footballers from the high school continue on to SPOSFC, because i gather when they leave high school they are not heading to mawson lakes fc anymore and are being lost
this is is a private school enterprise trying keep a leash on their high school graduates
why do they need to keep a leash on them?
well would the high school be at ease if the sacred heart high school footballers, went to play for henley after graduating?
My experience is that the schools wish to have strong Old Scholar interest in their schools because it keeps a link with the place and provides opportunities for both the school and the former student into the future. However, I don't think they particularly care whether the clubs retain all of their former students, and they certainly don't aim to "keep them on a leash" and hope they don't go elsewhere.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

both clubs to have the same colour guernseys
Why? Mawson Lakes choose to acknowledge their roots and history of SPOSFC. It just means to me that their SPOSFC records moving forward will be reflected from their performances, not Mawson Lakes and likewise Mawson Lakes wouldn't stake claims to success SPOSFC have in the future.
Same Colour guernseys - well if that's the biggest problem the people need to grow up, plenty of clubs share the same mascot or club colours etc.
err hello SPOSFC people are jumping ship no longer want a Mawson Lakes identity
your saying the people who remain at mawson lakes are gonna still be flying the flag for SPOSFC, hanging up all the premiership flags of SPOSFC in the mawson lakes clubrooms
as if
AND the SPOSFC clubrooms where it it will be, arent going to be demanding all their trophies, photos back?
this is a divorce champ, and is gonna get messy
Should it just be treated the same way as when Colonel Light Gardens and Kenilworth split after merging. Both clubs retained their previous history but have a portion that is shared. Effectively you are just getting two clubs split out of one common history.
Excuse my ignorance, but who is the new entity going to be? Since it was a "re-branding" as far as I can tell, then its not a splitting of 2 merged clubs, is Mawson Lakes FC going to be the new entity est 2015? or is SPOSFC going to be?
It seems strange if SPOSFC join as a seperate club from Mawson Lakes, essentially starting fresh, but then they just go "oh, and yeh we will have the history of the club that is now Mawson Lakes".. Or, will Mawsons take the history from when they were re-branded, and SPOSFC before that? Its seems very messy and somewhat unnecessary IMO

What I find interesting marbles is the fact an offshoot club of an already existing club can walk back in to Div 6 when clubs like ours who have had one poor season can be treated like lepers and can't even get a seeding and have to re affiliate with the league. I'm open to comment from the powers to be that scan this forum.
If your involved at mawson lakes in 2014, I guess in 2015 a crunch time is coming for every individual at that club to have to decide to stay at mawsons or go with st.pauls
Either way one or the other club is going to be short on numbers surely? And only one will be able to remain in div 6?
If mawsons die off, will st Paul's get instant affiliation to div 6
Also is it known where st Paul's home ground will be?
St Pauls had to move because the school didnt want them ? so they changed club rooms and started to play out of mawson lakes soon enough the people on the committee must have realised that to rename the club to mawson lakes would attract so many more young people from the area
so St Pauls apply to have another 2 sides in the comp they already have an As/Bs/Cs
and has the school gone 180 and will allow on the school oval or what oval will they hire
