Rnd 4 - Central v Eagles @ Playford Alive (Sat 25/4)

Post by Big Phil »

The Doggies and Eagles do battle again on ANZAC Day after these two sides featured regularly in GF rematched throughout the early to mid 2000's...

Central notched up their first victory of the year while the Eagles shocked everyone by demoralising the Reigning Premiers...

Looking forward to heading along for this one...

League @ 2:45pm

Reserves @ 12:00pm

Game will be broadcast on 1197am RPH Adelaide, from 2:00pm...

Watched Centrals on Friday and saw some good signs but don't consider them a top 3 threat. They should have been 6 goals down at quarter time.

Didn't see the Eages but 14 goal wins over the three time premier are generally pretty good wins.

Dogs will be tough to beat at home but if WWT can maintain any sort of consistency they will win comfortably enough. 13-24

Is Summerton any relation to Summerton ?

Or the Summerton of the West Adelaide variety?

Centrals are just missing that killer punch.
Had more of the ball, won the clearances and had more inside 50s
Eagles just more clinical

No, they just showed up.

Less than ordinary, Eagles way too good. Seems like I'm doomed to live through the 60's, 70's and 80's AGAIN! Thought I had seen the last of them.

Yep, and took the piss in doing so. You guys did similar but not as good as the Eagles. Very impressed with them and a good brand of footy to watch. Also a good turn out of Eagles supporters. Well done to the club, hard working as usual.

Yeah as bad as we were last week, they were good, real good. If they can remain healthy you'd think they should be around the money at the business end of the season.

Missed the Norwood game last week unfortunately and was worried about this one due to our poor record at Eliz. The trend out here has been poor starts and being 3-4 goals down at 1/4 time and virtually out of the game due to Centrals strong teams over that time holding us at arms length. Being up at 1/4 time today into the wind was foreign territory and proved to be decisive as centrals, with less quality than in the past and the Eagles with more run, body pressure and a better game style took control. An even team effort with McGregor, Goldsworthy, Borholm all playing big roles.
