If you want to go quickly, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.

I'll be suffering some serious wrath and punishments on footy trip this weekend streaming this game on the Ipad so I hope an Eagles win will make it all worth while!

So Westies have to use the cricketers change rooms on Sunday.
Crows and Port won't let them use their rooms.

Has not been open all year for the AFL. just relaid drainage and turf recently. will want to let get fully established for cricket season I reckon.

Was the same deal last season. Although I don't know if they use the Redbacks common room between the two actual change rooms?

I suspect, one cricketers rooms will be West (league) others will be North (reserves).

Go U Bloods! I 'am going to the GF to support Westies and the SANFL, its been a tough year for the comp and if this game is not well supported the usual doomsayers will rejoice. A good game, large crowd and a West Adelaide victory will reflect well on the comp. Go U Bloods!

In that 10 year period, they made the finals in 8 of those years, an extremely good record.
In the next period of 9 years till 1963, they still made the finals in 5 of those years but didn't win any of them, 1963 being their best year finishing minor premiers but bowing out in straight sets with an horrific run of injuries. In 1964, the gradual demise started!
No coincidence - due to a 9th Club being 'wedged' (no pun intended) between WTFC Western Suburbs Zone & PAFC Zone.
Was crazy decision to place Woodville into the Competition - ironic the 'Eagles' Home moved to Woodville Oval 26 years later.

Plus West moving to Richmond Oval (3km from Thebarton Oval) in 1956.
Anyway, that is history. Eagles have a chance to make history on Sunday and as disappointed as you/we can be about things, it will be nice to witness, hopefully, a premiership.
If the Eagles win, that will equal the 4 that West Torrens won in 94 years. By the end of season 2017, the merged club would have had as many seasons in the SANFL as Woodville did.
Godden has a chance to go down as the most successful coach and Luke Jarrad the only 3 time premiership player of the club, including the histories of Woodville and West Torrens.
Go the Eagles!

Question: have there been many times when a team has won the league's wooden spoon and the reserve premiership in the same year?
As a South supporter, I know my spoons but can't remember too many reserves premierships.

Did West Torrens do it in the late 80s? I reckon we might have won a reserves premiership and possibly a league spoon although South were also fairly ordinary around that period as well.

Re: 2015 Grand Final - Eagles v West - Sun 27/9/15
Torrens won reserves in '90 when Sturt finished bottom.
Woodville made the reserves GF in 1985 when the league finished bottom. Actually made 4 GF's in a row, 85-88, first two losses to Norwood, winning against Centrals in 87 and lost to Port in 88.
Can't remember who won the '89 reserves GF, but doubt it would have been Sturt?

EAGLES
Woodville-West Torrens ruckman Marc Borholm is a shock omission with injury ahead of Sunday’s SANFL IGA League Grand Final against West Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
The former Bloods bigman will cruelly miss the most important match of the year after being diagnosed with a fractured tibia in his leg.
Borholm suffered the injury during the first term of the Second Semi-Final and despite playing the entire match, was only able to train at ‘’30-40 per cent’’ on Wednesday night.
‘’The fact he was able to play the whole Second Semi-Final showed how courageous he is,’’ Eagles coach Michael Godden said.
‘’He tried to train on Wednesday night but was just not able to go to the standard required for a Grand Final.
‘’We’re all really devastated for him as he’s fought so hard for his spot in the team. His absence will present a challenge for the whole group.’’
Former Essendon rookie Fraser Thurlow has replaced Borholm in the centre square while Tom Whittlesea – the Eagles’ best in the Reserves Second Semi-Final – could also play to lend a hand in the ruck.
Reserves Magarey Medallist Matt Appleton, Joe Sinor and Giles Ellis have also been included in the 23-man squad to replace knee victims Angus Rowntree and Angus Poole.
Premiership midfielder Scott Lewis will play his 150th SANFL match after making his debut with West Adelaide as a teenager in 2005.
