FWIW in the top 3 SAAFL divisions I just checked and I haven't checked below them yet. I counted out of 30 clubs there were 21 clubs with at least 3 junior teams, 7 old scholars clubs which have the best resourced junior training systems in the state outside of the SANFL. 1 other club is Adelaide University who has 6 senior teams. 29 of the 30 clubs- we are already more than 1/3 of clubs with juniors and I'm not even half way through the divisions. This is a competition that has a far healthier junior and senior competition as a whole than the SFL!

Finally there are clubs in the higher SAAFL that have the biggest Junior footy clubs in the state. It's not 1999 anymore, clubs have strong junior systems and connections with them outside of the SFL.

TTG from memory have the biggest junior System in the state. But hey I'm sure it got like that only because the Seniors have "Zero" connection with the Juniors. Absolutely laughable.

SB just because 1 club says that it doesn't mean that's the case with all. If a SAAFL club wants to really connect it's Senior and Junior connection it's completely up to the individual club. When we did have 16's and 18's many of the 16's trained with the senior squad to better them selves and 18's trained with the Seniors religiously every Tuesday and Thursday. We ended up winning 4 senior flags as a result in coming years. League culture has zero impact and just because you play on different days it doesn't mean you can't connect both concepts of your club.

My info and not from just one as per my example is not many clubs within the SAAFL have any connection with the seniors .

The SFL plays juniors and seniors on the same day at the same venue and thus builds relationships with players and parents .

No disrespect SB as I know your background in footy circles is well known and respected but your initial post was factually incorrect throughout.

-For starters there is far more clubs with juniors than 1/3. I'd go as far as saying 75-80% of 60 clubs would have either old scholar connections and at least 3 junior teams.
-Every club in the immediate area I deal with close to Kenilworth has a strong Senior/Junior connection. They get far stronger when the players hit U16's competition.

Quick question. Do you as a Senior club have any less to do with or make lesser of an effort towards your Sunday Juniors (If you have any) when compared to your Saturday Juniors?

Seen the juniors play all the time. I also play C grade, then 2 hours later am a grade runner. I also help with our Junior girls canteens of Friday nights and have been a Runner when asked for the Junior Girls.

A lot of clubs have senior triple headers - so C grade starts at 10:15am.. just wouldn't be enough time in the day to run juniors as well, especially if you had a full compliment of grades.

-SFL complain about all juniors not playing with seniors now. How would it go when you play Old Boys teams who have no juniors for you to play every 3-4 weeks.
-SAAFL, SANFL Juniors and College Football are 3 completely different governed leagues. How do you expect them to all come together and make a draw that all is aligned?
-How many Schools south of Sacred Heart play school footy, therefore use players who could also play for your local club on Saturdays?

Turn it up. There is stuff all schools that play school footy South of Sacred Heart. Most private Schools won't even let those kids play at SANFL clubs.

You need to be consistent with Junior sporting times otherwise people will not take their kids to games. Just because it's school holidays you make 14's and 16's start 3 hours earlier than they would on a Sunday and also make them play Saturday's? I can see today's modern parents not having issues with that ?

And again good luck getting 2-3 leagues creating an aligned draw.

Turn it up. There is stuff all schools that play school footy South of Sacred Heart. Most private Schools won't even let those kids play at SANFL clubs.

Do CBHS, Seaford, Wirreanda ect all have School teams that play every Saturday now? If they do well I am well out of the loop
