Whaahaaay we now have a government. Big Mal is back in and now all has to do is negotiate a new deal with the Nationals and work with a Senate that will involve Hanson, Hinch, Lambie, and a few Nick X boys for good measure.

The only thing I have heard is hunt is out as enviro minister.

But big Mal has promised 3 years of delivery as he has apparently learned from the last election and his last term in government.

Unfortunately the words promise, delivery and politicians are almost toxic in the same paragraph.

Whats wrong with it and how would you be better off with it being electrified taking into account electrification doesnt alter the timetable and would make the line reliant on one part that has no replacement in the world?
As I said my only gripe is more carriages arent put on, electrifying them would make that possibility even more unlikely.

Seafood line shut down again tonight leaving passengers out in the cold and rain, bet those northerners are still jealous with their reliable service.

Gee I hope the cross benchers in the upper house treat this responsibly. Was a debacle with Labor, Greens and the PUP elected members all trying to act as an opposition. The Senate works at its best when the major party not elected opposes and everyone else just sits in open minded judgement. No opposing anything to just try to make the government look inept, no refusing to vote for anything unless you get your way on something totally different. I don't recall the Democrats doing that. Or Xenophon.

I feel like at least the majority of my life we've done well with our governments on the whole. From Hawke and Keating through to Howard we seemed to have a pretty good run. Since then, it's been unsettled (3 leaders in 24 years, then in 9 years we've gone Howard-Rudd-Gillard-Rudd-Abbott-Turnbull) and none of those governing have been remotely effective in dealing with many issues, particularly economic. And I think a lot of that is the change in the Senate from a central party to groups more extreme than the two majors holding the balance.

So the 12 senators from SA have finally been sorted out and well we have a mix really and well all that can be said about SA's contribution is that SA hates the world and clearly everyone on it......

1. Simon Birmingham (Libs)
2. Penny “the wongster” Wong (Labor)
3. Nick X (NXT)
4. Cory Bernardi (Libs)
5. Don Farrel (Labor)
6. Stirling Friff (NXT)
7. Anne Ruston (Lib)
8. Alex Gallacher (Labor)
9. David Fawcett (Lib)
10. Sky Kakoschke Moore (NXT)
11. Sarah Hanson Young (Greens)
12. Bob Day (Family first unless someone in the family is black or gay then we hate you Party)

4 Libs, 3 Labors, 3 NXT, a bat shit Crazy Green and a Crazy out of date religo.
Throw in Hinchy, Lambie and Hanson and you have a nice old mess.

Enjoy.

So, what do you reckon about one Nation @stan?
Are they disaffected ultra conservatives leaving the Coalition because of Turnbull and more central policies, or is it in response to political correctness, foreign ownership, free trade agreements and general hatred of mainline politicians?

Malcolm Roberts, with 77 direct votes, is somehow a senator. Already hitting nutjob status with his climate change denialism and tinfoil hat conspiracy theories.
