Season 2 months away. Some teams might have started training already or very close to starting.
Common questioned asked at these trainings.
SACA fixtures done.

Season is 2 months away.. Exactly right!

Who cares if you've started training - knowing who you're playing and when isn't going to change how you train haha!

Really people don't need to know until a week or two until the season starts.

Using SACA as an example is stupid too - SACA doesn't have promotion/relegation, generally play all their games at the same venues each year, are highly unlikely to have many changes before the season and is much much easier to draft a programme.

They may need to organise "Ladies Day".

Probably not.
One thing for sure is the season starts after the October long weekend normally, or has done for the past 30 years of my life, so book that date in for starters.

How do A1-B1 clubs feel about playing on Test Match Weekend? For some clubs, this means 22 blokes miss out on going to the cricket (day 3 of a day-night test match) to play a game. I am all for playing as much cricket as possible but we are amateur cricketers. You don't see the SAAFL scheduling football games on AFL GF Day.

I believe it was raised at the recent delegates meeting with only a handful of clubs supporting the motion of NOT wanting to play (namely the Old Scholars Clubs) with the excuse that the community clubs have fixed costs and they cannot afford to lose money by not playing a game of cricket. If you ask me they only have one vote and should not be dictating what occurs within the competition.

How much money have these community clubs got pouring in on a Saturday? Not that many people go and watch surely.

Smart clubs would schedule some sort of function around the test match or having a club event there to watch it
This is Tony Clifton! A name to respect! A name to fear!
