I'm sure "Spellcheck" could confirm or correct.

First time I saw him play was against the eagles in that first final and he looked the goods. Had an even better match against the Crows.
Looks like he has a lot of potential to turn into a damaging running player on the wing or off half-back. I think I read in the paper today that AFL scouts are looking closely at him.

Heard yesterday on MMM that it's the first time since 1926 that the two have off played against each other in a GF

Sturt make a habit of winning GF when they are not expected to i e 1976, 2002
But they also lose when they are favourites i e 1978
What will they do this time?

Considering one of the clubs was born in 1991 you could also say it's the first time since 200000 bc they've played each other in a GF too!

next time I'll be more specific and say West Torrens. Did they just get rid of their history prior to 1991?

Re: 2016 SANFL Grand Final - Sunday Sep 25 (Adelaide Oval)
^^^ Sadly, I would say yes.
WTFC died in 1990, as did WFC.
I would hazard a guess that legends like; Hank, Head, Bills, Phillipou, Robson, etc. would have little 'love' for Woodville Oval - wouldn't they?
The whole problem, initially at least, was the 'factionalism' of the supporter base of the Club. Personally, the 2006 Flag was when I finally accepted the 'One Club' ideal - 1993 was somewhat contrived in my eyes.
10 Grand Finals in 26 seasons suggests the Merger has been a success - but we need to remember that the merged 'entity' is just that.
Lets hope its a good game tomorrow.

Yes they did. The club got wound up. A bit like the original PAFC a few years back.

My Poppa was there in 1924. And 1933, 1945, 1953, 1993, 2006. Was sadly too ill in 2011, but enjoyed watching the DVD with him. He bought about 10 copies for everyone in our family. Will be watching down today, to hopefully see the 2016 flag added to the collection in the club rooms at Woodville Oval. Go the mighty Eagles!

Good luck to both teams and both sets of fans.
You can be sure they will be busting a gut to get over the line and there will be a few broken hearts as well as happy faces, and not just in the crowd.

I'll be there cheering on the Eagles
I do feel sorrow for anyone thinking both teams died.
But I also understand everyone's rights to thinking what they wish .
Hoping for an Eagles win
Hoping they do to Sturt what Torrens did in 1924 .
