Backward square leg whose quick, and a wide mid off work fine - might give a few singles down to fine leg, but generally most the grounds in the hard wicket comps are lush and slow so not much chance of it racing away for 4.
Besides don't always need to bowl at the stumps - build up a few overs of dots and blokes panic and throw their hands at anything.
Correct. Another point, at the level I was playing, very few blokes are adept at playing the ball well off their legs. lol

I found I used a fine leg abit to the tail especially in div 2 where the standard drops away.
Bowling outside off to a div2 number 9-11 was pointless coz you would watch 20 plays and misses or balls going down to third man over point, gully etc.
Was much easier to send a fine leg down there for protection, attack the stumps and watch them miss one within an over.
Well done to VIrginia in div 1!! I went out to Westies on Saturday to see a good solid batting performance never looked like throwing it away
Then on Sunday made the journey up the highway to jump on Riverside in div 2 after hearing they made 189 (and Dublin **** chase I got told the night before) I thought it was done and dusted.
Dublin had some good players that grit their teeth and got the job done it was an amazing game to watch,I have to give them credit for a small town and clubhouse they definitely know how to put on a show.
Well done to all involved, good luck next year up with the big boys in grade 1

Yeah, the locals have definitely got the place up and running, oval looks a treat, cheap piss and a great atmosphere

A few years ago they nearly chased down our 212 a fell about 20 runs short in the div 2 gf

Well with the news out that Adelaide Lutheran and Fitzroy have applied to join ASCA from next season, that effectively ends the C&CCA comp.
How will the remaining clubs slot into PDCA - will they be accepted, and what grading?
Enfield - 4x teams minimum North Eastern Knights (Greenacres) - 2x teams Para Vista (Greenacres FC) - 2x teams - likely only want to play LO though. Never2Late - (Valley View) - 2x teams Rose Park (St Pauls College) - 1 or 2 teams
At a guess Seaton, Magill, Desi and maybe Rose Park will fold and Athelstone will return to only ATCA sides.

At a guess I'd say Craigmore and Angle Vale would be asked if they'd prefer their B's to go to Grade 3 to try and keep Grade 2 all A grade teams, that would allow two newbies to compete in there.
With the size of craigmore and now Penfield folding they should get out of the PDCA asap and come across to ATCA they would have the facilities and their lower grades can still play Hard wicket if they are in a lower grade

Zero chance of that happening mate, they just dug up a turf pitch and put an extra hard wicket one in, they'd struggle for the helpers they'd need to maintain a turf pitch.

all i have heard over the last couple of years is how big that club is and how they have all these players, with that being said surely moving to ATCA would
1- bring in new players (maybe from PDCA) That would want to have a crack if they havent already at turf 2 with that curating experience may follow.
i know they have just put in a pitch, but this doesnt mean its out the question..... they have quality turf nets plus hard wicket decks for the lower grades still... its a massive win for the club.
You'd probably have Div 1 and possibly Div 2 incorporating the whole metro area but then North & South Divisions for Div 3 down. More serious cricketers travel and play against the best clubs. Lower divisions stay fairly local.
