Reynella, Flaggies, OSBL, Happy Valley, Cove all about 10/15 mins Drive from Morphy Pks / Brighton .....
Once the Darlington upgrade is finished even quicker ..... our longest drive from Roos to Smithfield was only 45 min .....
9 days on the road in 365 days ain't that hard .....

Why are all these clubs looking at leaving SFL?

3 clubs were named, 2 of them make sense.
Marion geographically is obvious, they are struggling at the moment but have good facilities. They have already shifted their underage teams to SANFL Juniors so already are not fully committed to the SFL, would be more competitive and currently more suited to the lower divs of AdelFL.
OSB Lonsdale are a well run club with good people involved. Unfortunately for them they lack the facilities and population base to keep up with the neighbouring clubs. Playing on a school oval is not dissimilar from a number of AdFL clubs so they would fit in there more than they do in the SFL. Geographically it would give them a point of difference and they would be closer to many clubs than Trinity, Smithfield and the like. I think of them as a bit like a Greenacres or Houghton but with a larger support base, more volunteers and some juniors. Would be a very good Div 6 team and could grow from there.
The SFL is currently a very good 9 team competition with the above two struggling. I have no idea what the story with Reynella is but fail to see what they would gain by cutting their Saturday junior program. We currently have 7 teams separated by 2 premiership points from 1st to 7th. The other two clubs are Aldinga, who are improving with one of the most fertile catchments in the state, and Happy Valley who are struggling at senior level with a young side but have an excellent and robust junior program.
If we can consolidate the SFL by Marion and OSBL finding a new home in the AdFL, we will have a competition of 9 strong and well run clubs in a very competitive league. Both those potentially departing clubs would also have the opportunity to find their level and florish, and the AdFL will gain two assets. It has benefits all round.

Has there ever been talk of paralowie reforming?
Why did they fold?
The truth is Scotty, I simply don't know the exact reason why or how it happened. Plenty of versions went around at the time and to be honest may well have been a little bit of truth in a few of the Verisons. I have since learnt from a council board member that the council wanted Paralowie gone for the soccer clubs to use that venue. Soccer seems to be going very well there, Coinidence? Probably, but could well be a part of the reason.
Some money did go missing, not huge amount. Paralowie formed a C grade and that in itself corsed a huge divide in the club, C grade coach telling blokes not to train so he can play them in the C grade. It really formed a huge Us v them thing between the A/B grade V's the C grade, really weird and something totally unheard of, for me this was the straw that broke the camels back.
I was seriously upset when it all went down, the club I truly loved was gone in the matter of one meeting. Best club I've ever been involved in, we were never world beaters but shit we had fun doing it.
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

Same but not completely up with who they might be, although Marion was coming to mind for some reason.
Please take them...

Re: New Clubs for 2017
I know the first ever coach of Paralowie very well Carey. He went on to be the president of the strongest suburban Football Club in South Australia at the time and it stayed that way for probably 10 years. One of the best people I've ever met in Football.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

Because the SFL directors have had their head in the sand for too long....
Clubs have the power now, not the Directors.
People hear all the bad things about the SFL, but there are plenty of positives, full day of footy, juniors connected to the footy club by playing the same day as the seniors, tribal nature of playing against your neighbours every week, now well supported by South Adelaide, good crowds....essentially country footy in the city.
To top this off the SFL beat GSFL 2 weeks ago, GSFL widely acknowledged as the best country league in the state.

I reckon you're going to get some arguments on that one from the BL&G folk.
