Temps in the 30’s this weekend and I’ve taken the sparkle level of my pool to a new high this year. Esky will be chockers full of froffs, sirloins & chilli squid on the bbq - come at me baby!

Make sure Mrs Spargo doesn't forget the ice. Also, have you told her how you want your food cooked and when?

Playing some rep cricket in a few weeks time. Got the nod for the over 50's RDCA team. Playing on the turf on a sub district ground. Will be a step up in standard. Go well here and could be inline for the big V!

An old chap I worked with in the late 90's had been in the job he was in for 38 years and was retiring ( government was out sourcing to private and he wasn't coming over ), I remember saying to him how lucky he was to be at retirement age and that I couldn't wait.

He look at me and said "Lad, whatever you do don't wish your life way. It'll be here before you know it"

I looked up to him a bit so I took his words on board. That was 22 years ago...22...years....ago.....

My life has been riddled with poor decisions or putting my faith, time and effort into the wrong areas.

I can't rewrite my history book, I can only learn from my errors in judgement and view today as another step in enjoying the rest of my life.

I have a job, a roof over my head and family, it might not be the glitz and glamour that I thought it would be when I was a young buck but I'll take that over the alternative.

It's depressing thinking about it, I can try and blame others but at the end of the day you are responsible for your own choices.
