Who cares if he doesn’t score quickly. He is exactly what we need at the top of the order. I think we actually need 1 more of him to bat at 3

Agreed. Need someone in the side who values their wicket.

Problem is CA thinks we as the cricketing public value a bloke hitting sixes on a Wednesday night in pyjamas while idiots sit there with KFC buckets on their heads in neon-rave style sun glasses more than we do a gritty young opener who tries to bat for a day and a half.

Correct weight, he's a traditional Test Cricket opener. Give the kid a decent go.

I personally like the big bash as well and can enjoy both on their respective merits. But it seems to influence the selection decisions of the longer form too much and that’s what I don’t like.

5th day is always free entry

CA lose money on a test going to the fifty day

4 days is the optimum financial gain

Hazlewood, Bird, Cummins and Starc all withdrawn from the coming round of SS matches so I’m guessing that’s our bowlers in contention for the Brisbane test

Nathan Coulter-Nile aggravates previous stress fracture, now ruled out of Ashes contention..

In other news, could Tim Paine be an outside chance to be the keeper for the Ashes? Playing for CA XI against England, knotched up 52 and took a couple catches in the Poms first dig.

Just read the Coulter-Nile article and it lists his injury record. Got to feel the guy and he might be just about done now.

Even though I was always a fan of him no, I don't think Paine is a chance. Not even playing shield cricket although might come into contention for Tasmania now if Wade is selected for the Ashes.

I hear Ben Stokes is in hot water for some drunken assault? I'll release more info when I find out, he may miss the Ashes series

I don't think he will be, but you never really know with our selectors.

MMarsh's 95 might be enough to get him the #6 spot back.... ;)

Tweet from Brydon Coverdale

Cameron Bancroft's recent first-class form: 206*, 72, 18, 17, 76*, 86, 161*. Matt Renshaw's recent first-class form: 5, 4, 22, 17, 16, 1, 19, 16.
I'm a huge Renshaw fan, but you'd have to think a straight swap could be on the cards.

This is my 11. Think Cartwright will end up getting the nod instead of Bancroft though but he is in some decent form at the moment
