I personally like the big bash as well and can enjoy both on their respective merits. But it seems to influence the selection decisions of the longer form too much and that’s what I don’t like.

Just read the Coulter-Nile article and it lists his injury record. Got to feel the guy and he might be just about done now.
Even though I was always a fan of him no, I don't think Paine is a chance. Not even playing shield cricket although might come into contention for Tasmania now if Wade is selected for the Ashes.

Cameron Bancroft's recent first-class form: 206*, 72, 18, 17, 76*, 86, 161*. Matt Renshaw's recent first-class form: 5, 4, 22, 17, 16, 1, 19, 16. I'm a huge Renshaw fan, but you'd have to think a straight swap could be on the cards.
