Last year, West Torrens went from bottom to top with New coach, and ended up winning all three flags.

This year, four Clubs with new coaches are sitting pretty. Adelaide Uni are 2nd, Sturt are 3rd, Glenelg are 4th and Adelaide are equal 5th. Cant argue with those stats.

Exception is obviously TTG, but you would have to say the team Sleepy has had for the last ten years, to have only one the Two day Premiership once, really could be seen as a bit of a failure. Especially if they cant get the chocolates again this time.

Reckon Woodville should take a leaf out of these Clubs and get a new coach next season as McNally has been there a number of years with no success, and their A Grade team on paper is pretty strong. Think the right coach could win them a Premiership next year.

Interesting thoughts there. What coaches are around?

Did McNally take them to the Grand Final in his first season as coach?

Not sure what year he took over, I know it was early in the season when Dean Sayers quit/was sacked after returning from Adelaide to coach them.

Uni have a new coach but have about 8 new players also. Sturt and Adelaide have always had the talent. Who’s been the most disappointing clubs this year? Kensington, West Torrens or Woodville?

You sound very similar to Martin Charles who wrote similar rubbish in the local messenger the other week which lead in to the Woodville v West Torrens match. I'm sensing a hidden agenda against Mcnally and that Martin Charles is in fact from West Torrens and not Woodville ;)

West Torrens have had a lot of injuries this year, lost most of the pace bowling attack that won them most games last year, plus Drennan going home. Kensy had lots out with state and junior commitments. Woodville basically had the same team all year, so would have to be them. Plus their B, C and D Grade all bottom so obviously not much coming thru. No wonder they offered such big money to Umpherston from Port to come over this year! That's why the coach should be feeling pressure. Uni added another Pom, Salt from Sussex, team made up of overseas and interstate players, going all out for Premiership this year!

The rise and fall of teams recently shows how tight the competition is. Southers premiership but only a few players dropping off and they slid down. Eagles down then up with only a few changes to player list.

It's good to have new teams challenging all the time. Keeps hope for all teams and means no one can rest on their laurels. Great competition at the moment and SA cricket in general on the up. Merger stuff not hanging over anyone's head. Redbacks and Strikers going pretty well (men and women). Few SA guys sniffing around Aus team. Test record attendance, Aus day fixture back. Good times!

Martin Charles also asked for Geoff Turley's head as well as he was cricket director. The 1st grade team and in fact the whole club had been so disappointing in recent years under his direction according to Charles.

Actually Geoff Turley has never been Cricket Director. This year is Huntley Armstrong and prior to that was Colin Billet, I would have thought if someone is going to have crack maybe get their facts right 1st.

Meanwhile Prospect are ultra consistent as always.

One day semis this Sunday:

Woodville vs Port
Glenelg vs Uni

Weren't Woodville in crisis a few posts ago? Finished top of one day ladder and into semi final. I know the two day comp is the main one but they aren't going too bad

Good luck to Sam Gardham making his debut for Woodville today, not bad for a lad that only picked up a ball as a 15yr old.

Benton only bowled 3 balls for Port yesterday? Injured I guess, big blow for them defending 294 on a flat Glandore wicket.

Bowled 9 overs today in one day semi. Took 3 balls from one of Thomas’s over but noticed he bowled as well today.

Port and Uni into the one day final.

Will one of them wear a clash strip?

Was Benton on restrictions? I’m guessing he was. Well done to Port for making it, good effort for a club that was suppose to be kicked out last season. They keep making finals.
Uni will go in as favourites, they are very impressive this year

Burgess smashed them, some very clean hitting!, set them up early and they finished there innings off with a 100 run partneship

Should be a cracker of a game, locally developed SA players vs the All stars

Benton had Gastro, few in the team did. Think he was just too crook to continue bowling and saved himself for Sunday. Was not feeling too well on Sunday either, but battled thru as team needed him. Will be ok to bowl next Saturday against Adelaide.

Reckon Burgess goes back to UK after this weekend, so if that's the case wont be playing in One day GF against Port, but will in 20/20 GF against TTG.

Although Port has mostly players from other teams (Benton, Carter, Mcdonald, Sayers from Woodville, Kerr from Glenelg, O'Hara from TTG- think others are from Port - Umpherston. Weeks, Chatto, Thomas, Sheedy), is better them winning than Uni who have spent up big this year, have several Poms, got Irish, had Sri Lankan, got several from Interstate and couple from NT, leaves only Crocker and Wilson who have been there a while.
Making a mockery of comp really how they get away with it, lots of teams complaining now they are winning!
