Hope he holds off on the red cans till after the game. Might give the term 20/20 a different meaning.

Still a fair while off but have read that the ICC is thinking of scrapping coin tosses for tests and that next years Ashes might be the first series where it is trialled

Yep love the idea.

Its already in county cricket with a slight variation. If the visiting team wants to bat they toss the coin but they can choose to bowl without tossing.
IMO this would change nothing at Test level. The main problems are the Indians preparing dust bowls where you must bat first to have any chance. The county rule only suits countries where there maybe a green top. Need almost the opposite rule in the sub continent.
Having said all that it is obvious it would be simpler to have the visiting team choose no matter what they want to do first

The CA XI has been kicked out of the JLT Cup this season.

However all 6 remaining sides will make the 'finals' of the tournament with the bottom 4 facing off in a qaulifying final to meet a top 2 side in the semi finals....

The Redbacks still don't get a home game.

Every team making finals lol. Perhaps they could give them all a trophy?

They're all winners in my view. [emoji849]

Justin Langer has been given the power of final say on team selection with the selectors taking a back seat.

What a joke the test rankings are Steve Smith has just gone to number 1 test batsmen in the world

Makes an absolutely mockery of the shit ranking system in place.

Don't know why there is so much outrage towards this......Australia haven't played a Test Match since Smith was banned. Rankings are based on the statistics of the previous 12 months are they not?

Summer looking bleak on the batting front....Khawaja is the only incumbent who has impressed of late whilst Renshaw and Handscomb haven't inspired any confidence over the quiet season. Head maybe closer than we think to a game in what may well be a Top Six made up of a whole heap of Ray Bradbury clones.
Bowling stocks look good if Starc, Cummins and Hazelwood remain fit, but they are going to be in the field an awful loot by the looks.

Ferguson could be an outside sniff of a call up if he can continue his solid county form.

Test squad to be announced today, I'd expect Head to be there, Handscomb is in awful touch & wont get picked.

All the talk on twitter is Aaron Finch might be on the plane also in the test squad.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Yeah I meant more if he can carry that form over to JLT, and earn a call up later in the season - perhaps the India series.
