He said Div 6, We have just seen OSB Lonsdale & Marion monster the Div 7 competition after not winning a game over the past two years.

Would the AdFL make the same mistake again?

Both Lonsdale and Marion this year put far better squads together than in previous years. It’s not comparing apples with apples. This years div 7 comp was far from a “mistake”. Besides Flinders Uni it was arguably the healthiest that div has been in a very long time.

Looking at the grand final, Marion looked to have improved but Lonsdale looked older and slower than they were last year. Have not seen any other D7 this year but if they were the top two teams, there was nothing to suggest that Hackham would not be a strong team.

Love all these SFL guys trying to talk up Hackham and what grade they should be in with the AdFL next year.
News flash guys, the AdFL aint taking your problem off your hands for you. We've got enough of our own problem clubs. You guys can clean up your own mess.

Their second side averages a 25 goal loss in a winless season - how is that depth?

I love how they're trying to palm Hackham off to AdFL, but also trying to encourage OSB and Marion to field C grade sides in the SFL

To those who bag Hackham as problem club You have NFI.

SFL Tribunal 2017 Hackham no appearances

2018 1 appearance.

The club is run by good people. Quiet possibly they would not want to lower their standards to SAAFL/Adfl div 7.

Well that's good, you'd hope that their on field behaviour was improved considering when they wanted to join the AdFL back at the end of 2016, part of the feedback they received was that they needed to tidy up their on field discipline and behaviour.

Not exactly, just feel some of the criticism is unfair. There is no real motivation to move them on as the issue has already been addressed by them competing in the C-Grade competition.

Considering the two teams play at the same time each week, they obviously have good numbers. Considering there are reports of players in the AdFL having to double-up for both A & B-Grade, they are likely in better shape than those clubs.

Yeah righto, didn't realise they played at the same time each week. Obviously numbers aren't an issue.

Having played Hackham in a trial game a couple years ago, they weren't the worst side i'd seen - B grade was very weak - but their A grade was more than competitive, and from memory we only beat them by a couple of goals. We had a pretty handy side that year and played D6 finals - Hackham would've been around mid table that year in D6.

However.. it's not ability that will be questioned on them gaining entry, it'll be whether they've truly turned the corner and left the previous poor on field behaviour behind them. Don't believe 2 seasons is a big enough sample size - particularly when this year they competed in a C grade comp where they experienced some success.. traditionally, they've had a habit of having one or two good years, then regressing.

Give it a spell, hackham white forfeited round 14 and when the two hackham teams played each other in round 15 they played 15 v 15

If they played in the saafl that week their b grade would of had 9 players...

Hackham would get absolutely smacked by the top sides in Div 7, let alone Div 5. Stop smoking that grass up on the hill there Dutchy

If they were to make the switch, start them in C4 and C7, and if need, AAA rules from the get go (Even though they would be better behaved than their Northern suburb brothers). Let them build the numbers up, and prove they should go into Div 7 in 2020

I'm confused. If Hackham had two sides why weren't they playing in A/B grade comp in place of the bye?

They were not strong enough and do not have the required junior teams.
Same reason Marion and OSB Lonsdale departed

Do not underestimate the work that has been done to fix up the SFL over the past two years
