It is a good point about keeping affiliation fees low though, most supporters wouldn't know the financial side of their club and the importance of keeping these low via gate takings in finals.
Can’t speak for all leagues but pretty sure in the BL&G that the host club get the catering and bar takings whilst the Gate takings go to the league to be divvied up.
@Mythical Creature would know what happens in the APFL.

During the year the home clubs take everything, gate, bar, canteen. For Finals APFL take the gate and the host club takes the bar and canteen, plus any other revenue (scoreboard advertising etc) Finals are distributed evenly in terms of revenue over a 5 year period.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!
Hey Dutchy, 3 senior games commencing at 10.15am and finishing at around 4.40pm is still a fairly full day of footy. Most punters paying their full $5 entry or whatever it is these days at SFL Minor Round games are not arriving at a time to take in this "full day of footy" you speak of. What the Boss is saying is that regardless of where a regular attendee's money goes it still doesn't change that across the whole season in Country and SFL you are paying somewhere around $80 to $100 to attend all games during the season then a higher per game fee during finals. In the AdFL the only gate taking all season is GF day although clubs can charge for parking inside the venue during finals as was the case at St Mary's last Saturday.
Heard last night the div 5 GF will be at Salisbury. League doesn't want West Croydon and Fitzroy at Salisbury. However Salisbury's B grade is in grand final so div5R will be at a different venue.
Seriously? As if the Salisbury Footy Club would be the decision makers in what games are at their venue. It’s the leagues decision. Use some common sense FFS.
Not a shot at you Bedge
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?
Can someone tell me why the D5R Grand Final can't be played at Salisbury with D5 and C5. Why does it matter that Salisbury are playing in it. Maybe I've just answered by own question and I assume it may have something to do with maximising gate takings rather than the host club having the issue of charging entry to their own people???

Because EVERY Grand Final is played at a neutral venue. Simple.

As mentioned last week, GF’s are the leagues biggest money maker.. how many Salisbury folk would manage to find their way in to watch their B grade at no cost?
Also was talk of who would wanna volunteer while their side is playing.
