Is it windy down in Adelaide? There's a fire a couple of km's from my house, 19 units attending to it.

Sweet Geezus, I had a few errands to run on my bike before work today, was fine till I got to work. As soon as I stopped about 5 litres of sweat just poured out of me.
Still more pleasant out there than when I was in Pattaya where it was 38 degrees and humid though.

Yep, right near my house, our street has had to evacuate, it is out of control, lucky I kept ringing my sleeping step son.

Where abouts in Woodside. I'm in the Jacaranda/Saint Marks estate. A couple of properties on the edge of this estate lost sheds but fortunately no houses lost. Pretty sure all houses in the town are ok. Saw 2 houses up on Ridge Road burnt out & a couple on the main road towards Lobethal.

St. Marks sounds familiar, just got a message from him saying they're ok, got within 2 streets of em. Power still out so they're staying with the mother in law. Reckons around the edges of town she's as black as a dogs guts. Hope all is ok with you and the family too lad.

Yeah, we're all good thanks. Stayed at my parents place in Mt Barker last night. Frightening how quick it came through. The CFS did an amazing job saving houses.

They've got balls the size of the ones in Rundle Mall the CFS, do incredible work.

We live on the top/paddock side of Grevillea Way Cracka and were awfully lucky. Fire reached and made a bit of a mess of our fence but didn't make it into the yard. My parents also live in the estate now and (stubbornly) stayed behind, so to be on the phone to them while they stood in the street trying to explain what was going on was quite terrifying.

Appears 4 homes lost on Ridge Rd, one of which was visible from our yard. A few others gone on the road leading out to Lobethal as you said, and at least one I know of was lost near Bird in Hand. Was awful going for a short walk around the town earlier, but it was also a reminder of how more catastrophic it all could have been. Hopefully the damage out towards Lenswood isn't too bad, as have many friends there.

Thoughts go to those who have suffered loss, and words of thanks wont do justice to the job done by the CFS and other volunteers. Seeing a truck from the Port McDonnell brigade driving through the main street earlier really summed up the effort they make.

Have spent countless hours hiking and riding through "Foxies/Mt Crawford" having grown up just around the corner from it. I dont look forward my next visit, but hopefully the bush can recover well enough.
