Fitzroy Community Club
COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT

Fitzroy Football Club is excited to announce the appointment of Steven Lemmers to the role of Senior Men’s A-Grade Coach for Season 2020 and beyond. Steve boasts a wealth of knowledge and experience from years of playing and coaching at various levels and at a number of different clubs. Most recently, he’s served as an assistant coach to the Under 18 program at the Norwood Football Club, and prior to that, he has aided head coaches in several successful finals tilts at Macclesfield Football Club and MORPHETT VALE FOOTBALL CLUB. Steve’s organised, structured and communicative approach is backed by his Level 2 AFL Coaching Certificate completed during his tenure at the Norwood Football Club

Steve is a passionate coach who is keen to continually improve himself and his players, and he's looking forward to the challenge of leading Fitzroy's campaign in the Adelaide Footy League Division 5 next season.

Joining Steve as Senior Men’s Reserves Coach is current player and Fitzroy premiership legend Mark Matheson. Prior to joining Fitzroy two years ago, Mark played and coached football at a high level at a number of clubs, including coaching the Reserves team at Virginia Football Club and serving as a very successful captain of the CBCOC Football Club in a playing capacity.

Mark’s commitment to Fitzroy and his football knowledge is already well respected by the playing group and his support to Steve will be invaluable.

Fitzroy Football Club extends an invitation to all players, volunteers and members to attend a Meet The Coaches event this coming Tuesday, the 3rd of December from 6pm at the club, where Steve and Mark will be happy to discuss plans for the upcoming preseason, details regarding further coaching and support staff, and the role all of us can play in what looms as another pivotal season for our club.

Congratulations to Steve, he will be great

Fitzroy looking to replace the premiership coach.

Looks like WHUFC called it (of sorts)

Not sure why Fitzroy didnt know, every one here in Clare has known since the finals time last season he wasn't continuing on.

He got them the flag so im not sure Fitzroy will have many complaints but it didnt appear to be any secret.

New coach of Blyth/ snowtown

Not that im aware of, supposedly focusing on his business enterprises. In saying that he was involved with some fitness work during their last pre season so wouldnt be hard to put the dots together.

Kersbrook's ruckman to Salisbury...?

Yeah pag, why the delay announcing it. Plus the returning A grade premiership player. New B grade coach as well? It's all happening at SFC.

Salisbury now advertising for a B grade coach, 3 out of the last 5 premierships and still in same div, be a good job to get an easy premiership on your coaching resume. Whoever started the dynasty in 2015 is obviously a genius.

I could be wrong but I think there was a delay in their AGM, it’s still constitutional to advertise annually, I haven’t heard anything to suggest that there has been a walkout or anything along them lines.
