Hey we ought to run an SAfooty sweepstake. Everyone puts in a fiver, and the first person to contract Coronavirus gets the whole pool. (Might as well pay it in banknotes since the winner is already going to be infected)

Think AFL and possibly SANFL will not go ahead.

I think the economy will be smashed. Kids won't be home alone, parents will have to take time off, not just lost wages but firms will not have the people to do things.

I hope I am wrong.

I mentioned earlier that I’ve heard the AFL has a contingency plan for a 17 round season with a redraw being done and all teams play each other once. Would mean the season is suspended until round 5

It’s not if, but when we go in to lockdown before it becomes a serious issue like Italy has become in the last 2 weeks. F1’s are strongly considering calling off the Australian GP this morning and major sporting world wide will be either cancelled or played in front of empty stadiums at least in developed countries.

I’d be shocked if heavy international and domestic travel restrictions are not in place inside the next 7-8 days until this whole thing calms down a little. The issue is in Europe the problems have skyrocketed in the last 2 weeks, this week especially.

What will an isolation achieve? it wont disappear because people stay at home, it will just remain dormant a little until everyone starts getting out again.

Ireland is our main holiday destination, I was glad to hear they are doing this now as they expecting to re-open everything March 29.

I think the French have the right idea, they have swapped around their school and university terms so they are shut for the next couple of week.

They have asked all adults over the age of 70 to self quarantine and have banned all non medical visits to aged care homes.

Agree and once you lockdown at what point can you re-decide to open. What is your cut off point. 100,000 cases we close 99,999 we reopen.

I think it will get to a point where we have to accept that living with the threat of coronovirus is an everyday risk in the same manner the flu is. Dont go visit your older family members if your sick, make sure you wash your hand after going to the toilet, take a day off work if you have flu systems.

I don't work there anymore (although I might be going back). The place might go into lockdown, I will message a few guys and ask.

I thought you'd still be in the know there, cheers.

A bloke form work has to go into quarantine as of Monday as his wife returns from Israel on the weekend.

She is a minister.
