Re: Grade Cricket
Could the SACA instead of making 2 divisions turn it into 3 instead and include the B grade from all clubs?
8/8/10 teams split into three.
The top 3 B grades could play in division 2 and then the third division be the next 10. Still promotion/relegation so teams in div 3 can go up to division 2 if they finish in the top 2.
This gets rid of a bye and also adds more teams to div 1 giving those teams a chance to stay in division 1 with an ok year, rather than the proposed top 6 where you could miss the finals by a game and get relegated.
Seems to work in ATCA with clubs having teams in A1/A2/A3.

I think this is a better idea than the 6/7 proposal. You could go so far as including all grades and have 6 divisions 8/8/8/8/10/10. Just make it so you can't have a club with two teams in the one division.

Re: Grade Cricket
I hear a whisper from a mate who knows someone from TTG that Nick Winter may be heading back there?

I also saw yesterday a few SA boys involved with Southern Districts in the Darwin comp who took out the 1-day final yesterday afternoon/evening - Kerber x 2, C Kelly, O'Connell and also a couple of lads who spent some time at Woodville - Fry and Mylius. They are a strong team in the Darwin District comp.

Think they would have some sort of contract that he cant leave - they paid for his Uni degree to get him there and would not allow him to leave unless he paid back the $30-40k

Yes, with Drew concentrating on his batting, will work well with a quality leg and off spinner. Was always coming back, but when Tom O'Connell got another Vic contract thought that may change things, but he wasn't happy at Sturt and how the captain used him.

Re: Grade Cricket
Think the recruitment embargo is between grade clubs, my guess is Valente & Hoffman wouldn’t count as they’re not coming straight from another grade club.
Port’s side looks stacked with those pick ups, have they lost anyone outside of Medew-Ewen? Wouldn’t want to come up against their B grade either.

Re: Grade Cricket
Embargo was voted down from what I understand. Not sure whether it can still be implemented if the majority say no to it.
The embargo was on 1st grade players within the competition
Port also lost left arm quick Mackenzie Best, he signed with Sturt

Yes, both Hatz boys won't be at Prospect next season. Peter is looking to play more T20 cricket around the globe and Max has full time employment back in Vic.

Your whisper was correct. Announced over Socials on the weekend. Big get for them. Be interesting to see if any other ex-TTG players follow him back!

Re: Grade Cricket
Erik Carrington's disappointing year at Adelaide has seen him return to West Torrens. Hopefully he has learnt from the experience and has come back a more mature player.
