The Merger Match-up

Woodville/West Torrens Football Clubs v the Port Adelaide/Port Magpies Football Clubs….
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Ha Ha, there would be very few people on here who aren't familiar with the origin of the "Port Natives" Hindmarsh/Jubilee oval and all that.

Just like that there very few people that that dont know that you're rarer than rocking horse sh!t on here after an Eagles loss

Ellis-Yolmen being back is a big plus for the Eagles. With Ballenden and Cameron still out injured, Sheedy doesn't seem inclined to give some of the younger talls a go, such as Cooke or Lukac. The 34 year old, well travelled, Seb Guilhaus played his 2nd game in Reserves last week after being injured all season. It will be interesting to see if Sheedy breaks the glass and uses him for some much needed height in the forward line and a chop out for Redden in the Ruck.

The other who has impressed in Reserves all season and looks set to have taken his game to another level is Connor McLeod. Yet to make his debut, he would have to come into consideration for his first senior game.

Hello Aerie, have watched all of Cooke and Lukac's matches this year, unfortunately they are just not ready yet. Cooke has been out for quite awhile following covid and a corked thigh, he came back last week and was very scratchy. Lukac has been playing CHB in recent matches, had a better game last week. I just don't want to see the young talls bullied in the league and lose confidence. Last years U18 forward Will Pearce is gradually being introduce to league football where possible, he has a strong, well developed body and should be able to handle the physicality of league football. Good to see Connor make his debut, has played quite well over a period of time. We should trust the coaching staff as they have a lot better understanding of the players than us onlookers.

Sorry if already mentioned in another thread, but what has CEY been doing/where has he been playing? What I'm getting at is, is he likely to hit the ground running?

Eagles to win by 53. MJP good luck with the battle ahead, I had bowel cancer myself four years ago, and a stoma, so can somewhat relate to what you're going through, though thankfully it seems mine was caught earlier as I did not require ongoing treatment. All the best.

He became inactive on the Brisbane Lions list as he refused to comply with the AFL Covid vaccine mandate. Not sure he's been playing at all?

On another note, wasn't there once a July 1 deadline for transfers?

1942 Grand Final
18-12 Port Adelaide/West Torrens
16-13 West Adelaide/Glenelg

So does the we-are-one club count this premiership in their tally. If so, does that mean the post 1990 Eagles have a few more to count

Well, as it was not won by the Port Adelaide Football Club we don't count it. It's recorded as the " Merger league" in our history, as are the 1916 and 1917 wins in the SA Patriotic League.
