how will it create more jobs?amber_fluid wrote:I’m with you here as I’m not working weekends either but there are others who would be willing here to work as that suits their family environment.tipper wrote:"we" most certainly are not.Brodlach wrote:Been saying the same for years Jimmy.
What makes a kid on Sunday who works 5 hours more important than the people who work 9-5 during the week. Ridiculous
We are a 7 day a week working society now.
my work is currently trying to bring in saturday openings. i certainly wont be doing any weekends, regardless of how they try to spin it. spending time with the wife and kids is way more important to me than my job.
Plus it will create extra jobs if needed(at a cost I know).
the rest of us arent going to magically have more money to spend because the shops are open more hours.
we will be spending the same amount, over a longer timeframe, which will increase the cost of shops doing business, for no monetary gain. all it will do is increase inflation, as shops will have to raise prices to cover their extra opening hours
great idea. do it. cant think of a worse way to spend my weekend than going shopping.Brodlach wrote: Perhaps all workplaces should close Saturday and Sunday so “we” all can spend time with our families
